New gen is in the works so Toyota is just gonna coast to the finish line for this gen. 2020 got electric seat, LED headlights and a fancy radio. That's your midcycle refresh.

New color or wheels is probably about it as for changes.

Omg, rear discs from T4R and a 60/40 proportioning valve from ANY of our other vehicles...such a difficult feat of engineering!!!

Considering a pair of generic USB charging ports instead of a 12v cig plug is a $65 upcharge accessory on a 4runner for like a $6 part, what do you think they'd work into the price for changing to disks over drums?

Hard feat? nope. Added cost to you? Absolutely.

I doubt it’ll be strictly carryover. Although with covid, it’s anyone’s guess.

I’d expect Toyota to drop a color so they can add Lunar Rock to the line up.

Grill would have to change since they’ve trended to only last only two model years.

I am sure the SR5 will still have the same wheels as it did in 2016. The design is so perfect you dont even need to change wheel designs!
