RCI sliders, RCI front skid, RCI trans skid, Bridgestone Revo 3 AT, OVTune 87 stock, Fox 2.0 rear, Front Summo springs, Truxport roll up bed cover, Tekonsha P3, Meso total tails, rear diff breather relocate.
I keep my Tacoma equipped and ready but would probably not leave the house in a SHTF situation. House is well stocked and all my neighbors and I own AR's. Leaving the house and etting out on the road might not work for most unless you live in a big city.

I have a first aid kit, shovel, fire extinguisher, flashlight, tarp, machete, bear spray, small club, knife, tools, tow and recovery gear, air pump, tire plug kit, binoculars, cargo straps and a few other things I keep in my truck. I've installed sliders and skids so I could jump curbs or what ever and get out of trouble if need be. I usually conceal carry when out and about for good measure.

Have a Porsche 718S as my daily, you could probably get a base or the gen before for about the price of a Taco these days. Fantastic car, and a ton of fun. Doesn't really check the practicality box of the hatch... But put two checks next to fun?

I once traded in a Titan for a 2013 Challenger R/T 6M and it was a blast to drive. Ended up supercharging the challenger later on and it was on a whole other level. Made upwards of 500 whp. In the end, I needed a truck for some home remodeling I was doing at the time and ended up trading it in for a 2nd gen sport.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
    No kidding.

I might be able to get away with a WRX, but I'm way too old to be driving an STi.

I moved on to this truck after having 3 sports cars in a row.

Things I don't miss: Swapping tires out in the winter, plowing snow with the low bumper, girlfriends hated all of the cars, can't carry anything, worried about where I parked them, they were all modified so every change in engine noise had to be datalogged, and the worst part of all... they will NEVER be fast enough. Every time someone out accelerates you, you'll spend more and more making it faster till you break something. You won't get your money back from your mods.

Saying all that I'm currently shopping for a side project lol. Keep the truck while having something impractical/unreliable/obnoxious on the side.

I don't know if WRC is going anywhere or not, but I don't think WRC design ques are going to be around much longer on passanger cars.

I see way more Crosstreks on the road than STis.

I don't think I've ever watched any WRC except for maybe a few Kimi Raikkonnen highlights.

But I suspect the WRX/STi and cars like it will be around for as long a kids are still into drifting and modding little Japanese sedans.

Loved my Crosstrek. That's a great little car. I can see why it holds its value similar to a Tacoma. A friend in Milwaukee told me his sin was looking for one and used ones are going for as much as new ones. Crazy.
