    Yep, fractured my left ankle. This was the one thing that worried me ahead of time.
    Same location as when I fractured it years ago.
    Extra articular fracture, not displaced.
    Evidently the old injury never healed properly, duh.

    So I gotta wrap it and stay off it as much as possible for 6 weeks.
    Unsure if I want to bother with surgery.

    It was on the middle of a long steep uphill climb when I felt the red hot poker.
    No cell signal.
    Made it the half mile to the top with the help of my walking stick.
    Got signal there and texted Mrs Gritto to pick me up at an access road the evening of the following day.
    Camped and took all the next day to go the 2 miles to the access road.

    I refused to think I needed to be "rescued".

    So now I'm thinking road trips and truck camping. :cool:
    Doing the AT is now out of the question.
