I can’t speak to the rest of the state, but I’d move back to Amish country in a heartbeat. Even knowing what time of year it is and what the whole county smells like. I hate to say it, but driving around farmland in VA just isn’t the same. There’s just something about that Amish cow shit!

So higher octane only cures knocking if that is a problem. It does not improve mileage. (I’m prepared for the flaming...). And how are you comparing “tanks”. Try the recommended fuel and you will save the money you think others are as likely you drive the way you prefer.

I have driven my 2.7/5MT like a grandma with arthritis in her Right ankle and a shoe full of tacks and gotten near 24MPG/450 miles out of a tank. I hate myself when driving like that so I settle for 20-21MPG, rev it up and rip at the shifter.

Off Road 4X4 Tacos are not economy vehicles... They are reliable vehicles and will go anywhere and that's why they are my #1 choice.

Did this today. This is a tank of E10 where I drive normal, rev it up to shift, no attempt at mileage. My commute is 33miles round trip with rural curvy, hilly roads and some in town stoplight to stoplight, 3miles of dirt road. Speeds 35-65mph. 21.8mpg.

I filled up with non-ethanol and will report back on how much a difference it made.

From my perspective, I'm happy with the efficiency and getting a better average than I expected. And, having a lot of fun with it.

    Stock-ish
Just went to Moab for a week. On the drive there, I got 21.76 avg (after calculating) with 35s and stock gears. Driving like a granny the whole way, due to my buddies Fj80s only being able to do 60-65mph. On the way back I got 18mpg cruising at 70-85mph.20210423_185006.jpg

Or hundreds of ships bottle necked at Suez. Or some market projection inspires commodities investors to bid it way up. Out here a refinery shut down bumps the prices. No matter what the long term price of oil is going up. I’m grateful it was down for as long as it was but didn’t look for it to stay there.

    I'm looking to get a deal on a 7.3 SRW F350.

I wouldn't know what to think if I saw an electric autonomous fuel truck.
