Ok so I have a 2017 Tacoma trd 4 door with a factory towing packages 7 and a 4 plug. Everything at one point was working fine but here in the last week I noticed something strange. Well so might right turn signal stays on no matter what even when the truck is turned off. None of my turn signals are working or brake light but the running light work fine. I’ve check all the fuses and relay in the engine compartment and by the driver side and everything looks good. I’ve check the plug for corrosion etc and everything look really good. Also used a test volt meter and it showing the same issue at the main harness. I know the old Tacos came with some sort of converter and have issues with the trailer lights etc. Does the new 3rd gen have such thing with the factory towing package? That could maybe be my problem or something and I’m just running out of option. Has anyone ever seen or had these problem and any help would be great!

3rd Gen has a nonremovable turn signal/hazards and towing converter inside the Combination Meter. If the light stays ON after all is OFF, I'd say the turn signal/hazards relay has faie

Would that be a relay or a fuse? I can check and see if that’s my problem

Relay, if fuse was blown you'd have no turn signal light.

Are the relays “built in” to the combination meter? Just curious because I had a similar problem on my old Ram. It was bad trailer turn signal relay “built into” fuse box. Not replaceable. Had to replace complete fuse box. On the bright side, it was completely loaded with brand new fuses as well.

I believe @caribe makaira just stated it was. And he definitely knows his stuff. Unfortunately, you might want to start checking on prices. And go over the wiring on the trailer. A bad ground on the trailer is what caused my problems. Good luck.

Stop is a separate circuit on it's own.
Tail/Parking is also a separate circuit.
None are "tied" to the TURN/HAZ circuit in the vehicle rear lights. Now in the Towing circuit (combiner) Stop and Turn are combined. This combiner is also inside the Combination Meter, built in & nonremovable.
