The single lugnut and the trannys are the biggest flaws for me. They are emulating open wheel with that... but... stock car racing isn't the same.

They keep selling the car by saying it will be less expensive to build and maintain... Same as they did with the COT when it came out. But with everything they have going on I'm finding it hard to believe it's going to be less expensive than the current gen.

I think the next-gen car is a push by the big boy organizations to make it less competitive not more competitive. But... we shall see.

I agree about the sequential transmission. The single lug, I agree with to a degree solely because of the safety factor. The wheels and independent rear suspension are long overdue.

    • The Mustang looks hot. The Camaro still isn't a Camaro. The Camry is still a joke.
    • I'm optimistic. As much as I love the old-school nature of NASCAR racing, the cars have been dinosaurs since the '80s. I am hopeful the playing field will be leveled at least for a season.
    • They're going full-on with the Jericho-style road course transmissions that have been around since the early-90s, but with an added gear.
    • I'm interested in the new rear-end suspension.
    • I'm curious about potential new drivetrains and future manufacturers. Looking at the Kia Stinger. It's a perfect fit.
    • I'd like to see powerplant variations. Let's see what a foreign twin-turbo V6 can do against the old-school V8 small blocks.
    • Switching to square-tubed roll-cages from round-tube is interesting.
    • I like the single-lug wheel so teams can avoid the frivolous monetary penalties.
    • I'm interested in the lighter, cast wheel vs the standard steel wheel and how the weight difference will play with the new suspension and setups.
    • I dislike the bigger diameter of the wheel and the wider tire. The cars need less grip and downforce so they'll lift in the turns.
    • I do like raising the cars up 2" off the ground. I wish they'd raise the 2" more.
    • I do not like the splitter.
    • I'm curious about the slick bottoms and rear diffuser and how this will play into pack racing.
    • I'm skeptical about interior camera screens replacing mirrors. Seems gimmicky.
    • I really like the L/R symmetry; something I've hollered about for years.
    • They better not move the number, but if they do move them, I hope they move the number forward to the a-pillar, not backward.

Serious question... anyone know if this sceme has been done yet? Was by far my favorite Wood Brothers look.

I missed the first few throwback races due to my extended vacation from society.

Last night was wild. They went sliding right by me on that crazy restart. Weather was perfect.

Today was solid weather. Warmer. Race ending was cool. Gragson got dq’d.

Tomorrow will be hot. Hoping for a classic.

Not sure how it looks on Tv. Truex stinking up the show but the pack racing has been FUN. Guys leaning all over each other. Bumper punts out of T2. 17 and 8 have been all over each other today!

I think the Gibbs cars are experimenting and whatever they did to that 19 I hope they share with the 18 . I don't know if they share every last detail , who knows . A good race for Toyota and the 19 fans

Was rooting for Busch and Larson, but not disappointed with Truex at all.
