How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

hey, I’m in the same area/situation as you. I’m getting my sport premium next week or the week after... haven’t been able to find this info but since you have yours... does the sport premium in Canada come with JBL speakers or the parking sonar?

 

3/18 deposit, 4/14 build arrived at dealer on May 3. Had scheduled truck for pick up on Monday 5/10, but dealer told me that they need some additional documents signed and can’t do that electronically? They are now going to mail me the forms to sign and mail back before they release the truck for delivery.

Looking at another week of delay. I don’t have an ounce of excitement left after such a long wait. I’m sure that’ll change when I take delivery.

Got a call from the sales guy at the dealer yesterday. He said they searched a 500 mile radius and could not find one matching the specifications and packages I picked out. So they are going to allocate one of the builds from the factory. He couldn't give me a time table yet, but I'd imagine this route takes a little longer, but I get what I want exactly how I built it to begin with.

Well, I am at 18 weeks now. The salesman called last week to tell me they had no idea where it was at. I drove by Sunday when I went to town for groceries and the truck was sitting on the back lot. Still no call. The truck does not have LED headlights like we put on the order, but it is a 6MT silver truck.

Hard decisions are coming up soon.

 

Dealer just told me Toyota is putting a 2 month hold on new orders. Anybody else waiting for an order to be accepted getting this info?

 

I put in an order back in February but the last few days I've been contacting other dealers. I don't know about all trims and colours but three separate dealers have said that, at least for a Lunar Rock Pro MT, orders are closed. Two of them said I could put a deposit down for a 2022 although there are no details.

My own dealer had no new news when I last spoke to him.



I'm still just hoping my order will be, miraculously, filled. Or...that 2022s still have a manual and a very cool new Pro colour.

There have been very few that have actually been up for sale here. MT Pros in any colour are a rare thing to see listed.

 

Finally received my out-of-state purchase. Absolutely love it. I was frustrated with the wait, but so happy with the decision right now.

 

I put a deposit on a 2021 limited nightshade in early April, a day later it was locked in as "sold" with a "probable" delivery date of late May. Dealer told me It was built on April 27, and gave me the permanent VIN number, delivery would be about May 24. He also said that pre sold Tacoma's get moved to the head of the line in shipping and might arrive earlier. It's like Christmas Eve.

 

Yep! I'm fortunate to have another truck. I'm debating trading in my Tundra. I love it, but it's a tank. And not fun to drive in the city.

 

If anybody near East Tennessee wants a silver 6MT off-road there is one at Johnson City Toyota. I got my deposit back today after waiting 19 weeks. They told me for the last month it had LED headlights. I almost brought it home, but after waiting this long and paying that much I decided to hold out for exactly what I want.

 

Damn that sucks. How can the fuck a sale up that bad. I would have asked them to add the LED headlight parts in for free and get a hefty discount too

 

It's Christmas Day. The dealer called and said it was arriving today (May 14).

WOW that is fast!

I was told 4 to 12 weeks which is fine as I already have a leased AMG so I am not giving the car back till September.

Hoping mine is just as fast as it is just a run of mill PRO

 

My experience has been similar to others--learned a lot from reading posts which has helped moderate my impatience in this process. Based on current estimated dealer arrival, process from requesting to delivery should be just under five months for me.

2 Jan; put $500.00 deposit down on TRD Sport 4X4 Double Cab AT Wind Chill Pearl. The dealer estimated an initial delivery date of 8-10 weeks for me.

6 Mar; informed by dealer that allocation had been approved with build date of 19 Apr. Dealer stated this date was the build week, not actual build day. Dealer also provided pre-build VIN. That VIN was available in the Toyota VIN lookup site and provided specifications on truck. Assembly location was Guanajuato, Mexico.

23 Apr; pre-build VIN no longer valid in the Toyota VIN lookup site. Base on other previous posts, my thought was the truck was in or near assembly/production.

26 Apr; dealer provided permanent VIN and ETA at dealership for 24-31 May. I live in US central region. Permanent VIN showed truck in the Toyota VIN lookup site and provided details on truck to include tire brands. Permanent VIN was available a few days later in Toyota iPhone app. I have no way of tracking delivery other than through dealer.

Many variables in this process, such as; assembly location (two in Mexico, one in TX), type model, build schedule, shipping origin/destination, etc.

 

Another factor is that any included accessories you added (mats, power tailgate lock, bed lights, step rails, clear paint protection, etc) are installed at another facility than the factory. I chose to install my own.
