This is very disappointing as I was contemplating one. For as expensive as these covers are, there should be zero DIY patch jobs necessary.

So glad I found this thread, I have had my DB for close to a year and recently determined any leaking I have now is likely from the center piece gutter area and not the bed corners I have obsessively filled in with silicone.

A couple months ago I grabbed my fire dept. gear out of my truck jumped into my boots for a call and squish my foot was in a puddle that somehow made its way into the boot despite having a DB.

I love this bed cover but I will have to give it some DIY TLC based off of what people here have noticed and done. Will update with pictures and results when I can.

    On my way....
I also had this problem on my 2019 Tacoma LB. I never could fix the issue. I chalked it up to the cover being defective and just sold the truck this year to get a tundra .
Figured the tundra cover wouldn’t leak the same , guess what it does . I contacted DB and they said my middle panel was shaped incorrectly /wrong angle. They sent me a new cover which was awesome. The new cover leaks worse, and actually has a ton of water coming in right at the center panel. I’ve added seals everywhere, still comes in with any water fall at all , even just sitting in the driveway . I have a bedslide so everything in the middle stays dry but not stoked these covers straight leak like this out the box, and DB doesn’t have any solution Help for me on this second cover.
Anyone figure out a good fix yet? I saw the one where he ran a seal over the edge of the gutter run off , guess I’ll try that next .

Does anyone have any pictures/solutions to sealing the two corners near the cab? I sealed both with the included silicon from DB, but I am still getting water. I think it is coming from underneath the corners, not the top. Also, I have had the same issue with the center leaks on both sides of the cover. They are sending me a new one which I hope solves the issue, but after reading this thread I am doubtful. I thought with the included shims, I wouldn't have this issue. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that way.

As I recall from installing mine, I used the provided caulk to fill the gaps on each side, along with putting the front gasket in, and I've had no water get in from the front. Going through a carwash I get a little water in the centers, and some around the tailgate (as I have not sealed the tailgate), but that's it. Are you sure that the front cover is coming down good and tight? I noticed with mine that how you adjust the locking bars depends on how tight the covers seals. I have mine so when I turn the locks, the handles are a bit of effort. (If that makes sense?)

Thanks for the reply. That makes total sense. However it seems to be coming from underneath the gaps, if that makes sense. The replacement cover came in today. During install I will see if I can still see light from the corner gaps and go from there. Ugh, always a hassle with things I buy it seems ;/

    Man!

I saw this thread was started in 2020...which I pay attention to now, for some reason.

Agreed with comment about as expensive as these covers are, they should have a fit & finish quality.

That being said, I have to believe "install" should be well explained, meaning key areas should be highlighted for possible leaks...with a "fix" in-place.

I do like the "Rough Country" trip-fold ($699.95) mentioned but I looked at the specs and did not see if it's strong enough if I stood on it.

Wanted to give everyone an update. Diamondback sent me a replacement cover, and the thing is perfect. No leaks at all. The center pieces that a lot of people posted earlier in this thread about, was also my issue (the machining of the center portion of the cab panel was cut too short. Customer service was great, and the trucking company was super easy to work with for pickup. The only thing that I am slightly concerned with now is how tight the tailgate panel is to my tailgate - it is tough to open and close my tailgate. But customer service says that it can take a couple of weeks to break in - which after a couple of weeks the tailgate should open and close easier. Anyone else experience this?

One more thing - the silicone that DB sends along with their covers - very messy and it would have probably been easier (and cleaner) if I used flex paste and a caulk gun. But that ship has sailed now, and I am happy.

Thanks all. Open to hear other's experiences.

Yes, silicone is messy but very effective. Make sure you tape up there area you are working on well, so theres no bleed over, wear gloves, and you should be good. I have absolutely no water penetration where I did my silicone work with the tube they provided.

I am dealing with all of these leaks too and about to try the added foam strips. To answer galaxyz, I found that butyl tape fills the holes on the underside of either side of the bulkhead rail. I made a ball and jammed it up in there. This whole things is fucking annoying to say the least. Everything else I have done to the truck is flawless except this stupid, expensive cover.

No water in the bed after washing the truck for the first time. Still waiting on a big storm, but will report back again after that. So far, things are definitely improved with the foam strips.

Just had a big storm. Those foam strips fixed the last of the issues!
