I recently had my ‘19 off-road 10k service done and after that I started to notice a metallic noise as if something was bouncing. I got down and saw the skid plate on the drivers side is bouncing up and down, hitting the suspension arm. Is this normal? Maybe just a rubber bushing would fix this?

As a side note, I’ve got lots of rust after getting under there; normal for New England area?

Sounds like they didn’t tighten it up after the oil change. The rust seems normal.

What you have circled in RED is not the skid plate, or so I believe, the skid plate is down below and further to the right in the picture. Could that be a piece of the plastic front end(bumper) you have circled? Your complaint said you heard a metallic sound, I'd bet you have not yet found your problem, however it may indeed be a loose skid plate, look a bit closer.

OP has circled the outside edge of the main metal skid plate—or splash or brush guard, as it’s sometimes called. The smaller guard is visible, and it shares two bolts and protects the oil pan.

OP, does yours actually rattle, or is the edge you’ve circled simply flexible? I can flex mine to touch the same control arm bracket, but the outside edge doesn’t rest on it normally. Make sure the bolts are tight.

Mine looks the same, although I don’t have that much rust on the control arm.
