Anyone have issues with a certain brand or model of shells rubbing off paint? I am finding all kinds of excuses not to buy one. Trying to talk myself out of it, at least a new one. I am picky about the paint due to living in a high salt area. I am assuming since the shells are molded for particular models unlike the past that the rubbing issue is not really an issue.

Leer 100XQ shell did have a lip coming over the bedsies. I only had an issue when the shell came loose from offroading/excess vibration. I recently took off the cap and did notice there was some paint wear under the plastic pieces on the top of the bedsides. paint quality on the leer cap itself was awesome, if you buy new be sure to be very thorough when you inspect the shell once your dealer receives it. mine had 2 imperfections in the fiberglass and you could clearly see it through the paint.

they offered to but would've taken another 12 weeks for a whole new shell. (waited 9 wks for the first shell.) The imperfections weren't big enough to bother me, (small dip in fiberglass & window scratch). I no longer have the shell, so I'm not worried about it.

Have you tried using the product below to alleviate the issue with paint wear on the bed due to rubbing with the camper shell? From my understanding, this seal will increase the shell so it wont rub the bed. I am getting my shell in a few weeks and was thinking to add this underneath the shell. But i am not sure if this will help and also not sure if this will void the shell warranty?
