I'm considering buying a 2015 Tacoma 6 Cylinder with 125K miles. Any advice on what to look for in this vintage truck? Any drawbacks or positives on the 2015? Thanks rgf

    Ditto.

PPI is always a great idea.

Run the VIN# on Toyota owners website. Hammer test frame all over.

Is the rust issue valid in NC/SC?

    1. Check the Carfax
    2. Check for rust on the frame/suspension
    3. Check for suspension leaks (control arms, etc.)
    3. Engage the 4x4, diff locker, etc. to make sure there are no issues.
    4. I would grab a diagnostic tool to scan the vehicle for codes, readiness monitors, etc. The catalytic converter may be on it's way out soon. I'm in CA where we need to pass a smog inspection, and a cat replacement is pretty costly.

The 2015 is the last year they made it with the 4.0l engine, so it is considered the best year Tacoma to purchase. It will last you a long time.
