I did the Taco Garage DMM in my 3rd gen because I liked that if I removed the ram balls, you would never know it was there. Also, because it used easily available ram balls, you could mount just about anything to it. There was zero rattle or shake with it. I would do it again if I got another Tacoma.

Actually starting down in Big water, and doing Smokey Mtn Road. I might give them the option to do the hole in the rock road with the 4x4 section at the end if they want. We will then go do the bur trail, wolverine loop, bullfrog and eventually making our way to Goblin valley on 5/20-5/21. They are from California/ Nevada. Won't be a lot of 4x4 but I haven't seen this group since 2016. I think we will have a range of vehicles; tacos, 4 Runners (new and old), 4x4 suburban, and maybe an old F100 stepside with the camper. lol

I would like to maybe get some members together later in the year and would like to do a Doll House/ Poison Spring weekend.

It sounds like it should be a good outing.

I would like to do a local TW trail outing again at some point.

Would you have interest in doing Hole-in-the-Rock trail at some point this year?

I'll check my calendar and see if I can put something together in the next couple weeks before it gets stupid hot. Something easy like a Pony Express or Knolls trip, something to just get out, play with trucks, and drink some beer outside :D

I have wanted to do that for a couple years now. I am curious however if a front locker and 35's are required for the ledge on the return trip (I think).

I have the factory E-locker and 33's. I also have Long Travel Front and rear so I can get to a lot more technical spots with just the articulation.

Let me know if you are going to do it and I will check my work schedule. I think I am gone for work August-end of Sept. October I might be fully open!

October would be a good time do it.

No, 35’s aren’t required, but a front locker is a bonus.

@Jiveydude, @Rockymtntacoma and I did it a couple years ago. None of us had 35’s. Two 1st Gens on 33’s and my 3rd Gen on 34’s. No long travel either.

I had to limp in and out b/c of a damaged abs sensor. It was superior guiding by @Jiveydude and @Rockymtntacoma that got me through the trail.

    A most spectacular trail btw.

Anyone down for a quick day trip Saturday? I was thinking of doing a run of Black Dragon canyon to break in the GX.

I found this on google: Black Dragon Wash Trail is a 6.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Green River, Utah that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, mountain biking, and off road driving and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

But your map looks like it is quite a bit more than 6 miles and a loop back to the freeway. Total Miles?

So "people" that run it say it's 3 out of 10, but "officially" it is rated at 5 out of 10? Moderate?

The loop in the picture is both black dragon wash and the black dragon pictograph trail. Thats about 18 miles. I'm flexible with how ever far everyone wants to go. How my son is feeling will have a large say in that for me though. I am most interested in the eastern end with the pictographs. I would plan on it being moderate just to prepare for the worst. It's difficult to tell as part of the trail is in a canyon that can flood during rain storms as is common in the area. So conditions can change from when people last ran it.

Yea, 5 out of 10 when I last did it. Be prepared for pin-stripes. I agree with the above posts. Conditions can change year to year. Could be easy, or difficult and need rocks stacked in some portions.
