Hey Tacoma Crew! Just acquired my first Tacoma (2016 crew with 6' bed) and lucky enough to have the super white paint peeling. Saw it at the dealership and after a quick Google saw that it was a common issue with many Toyotas. Naturally I thought it was going to be an easy thing to do take care of, for Toyota is known for their quality and having owned a 4runner and most recently a Tundra... Well, after several calls and being told that Tacomas were magically not included in the fix program that all the other super white vehicles were, even though it is the exact same issue that even Ray Charles could see. Finally the local dealership GM managed to get the fix approved and should have my truck on a ship over in a few weeks!

I've already been diving into all of the experience here and looking forward to learning more and sharing what I figure out. Started off with old broncos (yes, I know... Never thought I would be that guy. But also if anyone could have known that a $3k Bronco would be $175k, please make yourself known!), then Dodge diesels, Chevy 2500, Ford 150 fx-4 (worst truck ever), then an old 97 4 runner, and a 2008 tundra. Former Air Force aircraft mechanic and do everything myself!

    Looking forward to the community!

    Best,
    Steve Screenshot_20210201-114510_Photos.jpg

Thanks guys! And just an FYI.. I have about every tool known to man and just acquired a brand new Everlast inverter welder (mig, tig, and stick) plus a new plasma cutter. Hmu if you need any help. If the Matson container makes it here in a few weeks anyway....
