    The backstory:

Airing up tires is a pain, it always has been despite the efforts made to make the routine easier. I have an ARB single compressor located behind my driver side backseat that I’ve multi-purposed for both my air lockers and for airing up with a single hose. However, the problem I ran into even with a decent compressor was that running a single hose to each tire and holding the chuck on the valve stem was both inefficient and time-consuming. Pulling the chuck off every few minute to check pressure only to discover a 1.5 psi change is not the least bit satisfying.

    My solution:

Now I’ve seen tire inflation systems in use before and know the concept isn’t anything new. What I didn’t know however, after searching around online, is that these systems range in price from $175-$250 and they didn’t offer the functions or expand-ability I wanted. So I decided to build my own for less.

For my application I decided on a two-tire inflator/deflator instead of a four-tire due to the size and location of my air compressor.

My goal was to be able to inflate or deflate both tires simultaneously and equally while also having the ability to add an additional line if I needed to power an additional accessory. I orientated the fittings so as to protect the gauge. The tool maintains all functions while hanging from my rock slider when connected.

After using the tool on multiple wheeling trips, I’ve been thrilled with how it has performed. Having met my goals and expectations, while saving me a bit of money. Also, thanks to higher throughput, I cut my air-up time from 30 minutes to under 15 minutes. The only items I would improve are the gauge, I would use a liquid-filled gauge, and I would not use recoil-type hoses as they are a little awkward and tangle easily.

What I want to offer if there is interest...

A couple of my friends were interested in the tool, and asked if I would make them one. Which brings me here, because if I make more, I’d rather get all the parts at once. The maximum run I’d be interested in doing is for 5 air tools at this time.

As the title states I’m gauging interest in a dual OR quad air tool. Meaning, if you’re interested, I can customize the tool to your application, chassis length, and location of your air system. Your choice of functions and disconnects can also be considered.

All that being said, I’m a fellow Tacoma enthusiast, and work nighttime hours 5 days a week, so I’ll try my best to respond timely to any questions.

Preliminary pricing is $130.00-$150.00 shipped for a dual inflator and $190.00 shipped for a quad inflator.

Let me know if you’re down and I’ll add you to the list. Thanks.

Bump, pricing is preliminary. I can make them cheaper for a more simple setup than what I made.
