    Hey everyone,

We have had a week to discuss some items for things that TEC can do in the future. Some key ideas that I am summarizing from this thread (that you can please chime in if I am forgetting something) are:

    Club specific
    • The idea of having some other people on board to help out (currently two people doing everything with many people offering help)
    • possibility of identifying roles and positions
    • Also this is the chart based on 26 votes. As a reminder this was asking if people agreed (yes portion) to removing the sticker as an included item with the $10 membership. I am going to be emailing everyone again to complete the form and also fill out any other items that suggest. (apologize to those who already filled it out.)
    upload_2021-5-9_20-53-18.jpg

    Stickers/patches
    • some kind of general sticker
    • a different kind of custom sticker/patch with username
    • stickers for specific meets
    Meets/Runs
    • more runs (variety for intermediate to advanced trails)
    • more meets (idea of the movie night)
    • some kind of tech/recovery specific meet
    • keep the calendar up to date
    Community items
    • continue to clean up trails (we are trying to contact OF4WD to continue adopting the south Trail and maybe another if it is not taken already)
    • get involved with conservations and local communities
    • Other volunteer work for instance
    Miscellaneous
    • Other means of communication such as facebook or Instagram (both of which we have)

    Club specific:
    1. this is sort of a position for someone to step up to themselves to help you guys, have you heard if there is any interest? Does the rest of the community feel like someone should give it a shot? obviously don't force someone into the position, only if they themselves are interested and are willing i'd assume.
    2. This is effected by #1.
    3. seems like the general census would be that; only new members get club sticks. Those that have them now will not be receiving any more (unless they ask for another, and thus i assume a small fee would apply) moving forward with the club. I'm fine with this idea, as it will save the club a little bit for better equipment/ benefits. for example; @Norilsk got some really nice gloves for trash collecting on clean up days.

    Stickers/ patches
    1. We technically have a "general" sticker for the club and that's the black tire with the red in-fill found on the front page of the Ontario BS thread. The question i would guess now is that, is everyone ok with this design or should we consider something else? IMO, the design is a nice identifier and does stick out amongst other groups from what i've seen. should we put it to a vote?
    2. I'm all for for a single run of custom name template stickers, but with the current design of the general club sticker it would need to be in the form of a sort of banner as i last brought up, similar to the military-style ensignia.
    3. custom stickers for each event is an interesting idea, but would depend on how many runs we're allowed to make for a specific set. On average; we have 15 trucks (taking a guess here off the top of my head) that showed up at the November Ardbeg clean up, and similar numbers the year before. meaning a run of about 20 custom stickers for the event would be all that we need. Depending on design and size that changes where costs go. Maybe something along the lines of the old TMMC plates we got from the cars and coffee meetups (but in sticker form, and for events that are more than i'm abritraility putting 10 people. could discuss this further) i feel these sticks should be limited to clean up days / larger events like if we did the movie night ̶s̶l̶u̶m̶b̶e̶r̶ ̶p̶a̶r̶t̶y̶ camp event. but if there is a large request of event stickers, when we do out "add yourself to the going list, we could ask members at that time if they would like an event sticker for the toolbox/ inside of the cab.

    Meets/Runs
    1. more runs would be nice but we are limited to how far people are willing to drive. We have trails like the Purple woods to Hogsback trail event but it's a tiny bit out of the way for me, doable but a bit out of the way (2h drive to the start). but however knowledge is power in this field, to get more people out and about for these sorts of trail events - we need to find them down here in southern Ontario. So if we can find local roads, twists and turns and enjoyable roads to just cruise on similar to the winter rally - then they'd be a nice bonus to expand the circle of where we can make these events happen. trouble of this again, is finding these routes. i've started driving down random roads south of Cambridge/ Hamilton to see if i can mark any public roads that are not paved/ not maintained in the winter that could do for a fun run/ cruise night.
    2. assisting conservations would be a gold star to have, but that also means that the conservatives would require public help with projects. In terms of the Hewlett conservation beaver dam cleanup you did last week, we cannot simply do that ourselves but we had that opportunity after they reached out to us about it. with this said, we would need to keep communications with them open to continue onwards.
    3. the tech/recovery meet we had at Ganaraska was a perfect, i don't think it should change at all. however now that we also know that we can register more than a certain number vehicles with the conservation for a "group day event fee" instead of individuals paying for themselves, i think this benefits us the most. Wonder if people would be interested in one in the middle of the summer as i believe we have only done so in the fall/ winter?
    4. you've had the calendar fairly up to date, but do we know if we have the ability to allow other members to update it? As we use Google calendar, it should update the first post automagically, this was other members can put in trail events

    Community items
    1. Clean up trails i feel like is almost a necessity as it's the one thing that ensures we can continue using trails and systems like Ardbeg which in itself is sad to say but it is the reality of it.
    2. see meets/runs #2 as it's the same
    3. technically what we do is community service so we can poke our heads into this; https://www.sparkontario.ca/ since we're spread out across Ontario, we could connect one or 2 of these. but again, this is just an idea.

Our goal right now should be to identify locations that we can do meet ups in throughout Ontario, as well as trails/ rallies that we can consider creating a map on a wall with notes of what is available to do. I'd also like to gauge people's interests other conservations outside of Ganaraska? Valens is one spot i frequent, it has camping areas for those that are interested in staying over-night could but there is only a walking/ biking trail instead of the ATV/ 4x4 system like Ganaraska does. (fairly certain Ganny is the only place that does this as i cannot find information on any other.

I heard back from the shipka drive in owner. Due to the restrictions from covid he doesn't want to be involved in any over night camping at this time. He said check back next year. Or he told me it's for sale and I can buy it and do whatever I want lol. Hmmm. Debbie does Dallas on the big screen.

    Mostly stock for now...
That's the way things went around here... Drive In owners held out for ever as the developers got closer and closer... within weeks of the last film being a wrap and the popcorn maker getting cold the heavy equipment would be in breaking ground for a new shopping mall or subdivision...

Again good points and thank you to @tacoma16 for summarizing some points. If you have to say/add do it as you all please. The more feedback we get the better we can run the club and/or expand it in the right direction.

My sisters place is 2 min from it. I think its been for sale, maybe not publically, for a while. No?
Seems to me I remember my sister saying something about the owner selling.
