My steering wheel shake was caused by worn out LCA bushings. I loosened the cam bolts and removed the 2 bolts at the lower ball joint to diagnose. Without weight on the LCA, the play at the bushings was very obvious. New Moog LCA's fixed it. I plan to install the Whiteline bushings in my OEM LCA's, eventually.

I've seen on more than 1 occasion, brand new rotors warped. It's such an issue we cut brand new rotors to get them true.

Okay guys.... I lifted the truck and checked for any play again an found none, BUT i took the tie rods loose from the hub and the drivers side had a tiny bit of in and out play on the inner tie rod just enough where you could feel a little pop but not see any excessive movement. So i replaced inner and outer tie rods on both sides. the inner tie rods were pretty sloppy once i got them out. The truck is currently getting a front end alignment so hopefully this was the issue. Ill update when i pick the truck up.

I think I may also have a similar situations you describe. When driving over certain road conditions at highway speed, I feel as though there is a slight tire shimmy which I feel in the steering wheel. This is not while braking. tires at 35 PSI. It clams down quickly and all is good. My thought was more along the lines of "Do I need a steering stabilizer? " I will be checking for worn components this weekend.

'13 DCLB with OE 17 wheels and OE tire size. 95K miles.

My steering wheel shake at 60-65 mph was caused by the crappy OEM tires. I switched to Michelin LTX's years ago and have had no further problems.

So after getting my vehicle back from getting an alignment the guy told me my tires were out of balance. I couldn't believe it since i just got tires a week ago and they supposedly balanced them. I also took the truck back to get them balanced because of the issues. This is a different shop. The tech also told me that the tires i am running (265 70 r-17) are wider than stock ( he's saying 256 65 r-17 are stock) so it could be part of the issue. So after changing my Tie rods, getting an alignment, and getting the tires re-balanced for the third time the truck seems to be doing better. He also said the ball joints and steering rack looked good and had no play.
