    It’s easier if you disconnect the UCA ball joint to adjust preload too.

    @Vegasstunts

    I don’t have the res. Yours looks different than mine. image.jpg

    @anthony250f interesting. Is the ball joint/spindle connection hindering the collar from rotating that I can’t see. Haven’t been able to budge it anymore from this location. May throw in the towel and have a shop compress the springs to get at it sometime soon. Gnarlly!

    It just hinders your ability to rotate the punch

    Maybe it's my eyes, but it looks like the collar jumped a thread. If thats the case, I wouldn't muscle it too much before you strip them. If this is the case, def want a spring compressor (preferably heavy duty/wall mounted) to get the tension off and see if you can hop the collar back on the treads.

    Like someone else mentioned, I've got 700lb springs and I'm still not moving the world to turn these things. It shouldn't be uber-titen.

    @lemon177 thanks for the insight ma dood. It definitely feels like I’m putting way too much in to try and move it even a touch. Going to give a few shops a call. Anybody have any suggestions for this kind of work in San Diego? Was thinking “the truck shop,” but am open to suggestions. Also can anyone provide a ballpark estimate on price for this type of work since they have to remove shocks? Appreciate it everyone.

    Whaddup taco fam. Just noticed that my spring is rubbing on the shock body. Any ideas on a fix or how/why this is happening? Been hearing some sort of rubbing going on especially when reversing up an incline. Think I found the culprit.

    Too much preload is usually the issue.

    Edit: look at your spring in relation to the retainer. Your spring isn't seated correctly.

    Yup. Definitely not sitting in that retainer. Damn. Will compressing the springs allow me to get it lined up in the proper orientation?

    @desertjunkie760

    or do you have another recommendation on how to get it seated correctly?

    How did that spring come unseated? I would recommend removing the coilover and using a spring compressor to get it all squared away.

    @AccuTune Offroad

    I honestly can only guess but when I took the coilovers off the truck and got them adjusted it’s possible this was overlooked. Other than that they had never been adjusted except off the fox assembly line. And I’m at fault for being too green to notice anything like that.

    but okay. Will remove and get er squared up.

    Hey y’all me again. I needed more adjustment here. So I bought a spring compressor. Springs are compressed but when I turn the collar the whole shock body rotates and not just the collar. It’s difficult to get a grip on the shock body to start even getting the collar going. Any help is appreciated. What a journey with these! Also Threads have been soaked in blaster. @AccuTune Offroad @desertjunkie760

    At this point, I'd recommend pay a professional to get you dialed in. Accutune is now local in SD too.

    x2 on what @desertjunkie760 said. If the body is spinning from the top cap, thats not good at all and will need to be taken apart and re-sealed properly.

    @AccuTune Offroad fair enough. The whole assembly is spinning. Top hat included.

    Is there a generally agreed upon ratio of revolutions (turns) to lift height specifically for 2nd gens? I’ve read a few threads where people were finding 8 turns equal to approximately 1inch of height. These were 3rd gen folk. Wondering if 4-5 turns might be more in line for 2nd gen. Much appreciate your experiences. Thank you!
