Installing RCI sliders for my new 3rd gen DCSB Tacoma!

Unfortunately...I got the passenger side one all lined up and in place, and I was getting ready to tighten the bolts down when I realized I forgot to remove the two plastic caps in the frame, which cover two of the front bolt holes.

Rather than dissemble everything (which will be a pain to do solo), can I just drill out those covers? Or is there any wiring or anything crucial inside the boxed frame section I need to worry about?

1st two pics are driver side frame (haven’t gotten to that slider yet), where I’ve now removed the caps.

Last pic is passenger side slider mount/attachment point to the frame (where the bolt holes would be showing...except they’re covered with plastic caps underneath the slider).

You can just stab trough them with a screwdriver. There’s nothing back there. The caps just “seal” the frame from debris.

Either way you have to access the back of those plastic caps to add the nuts for those bolts so you can check for yourself. There’s access about 12” rearward on the inner frame. The drivers side has your brake lines in the way and possibly a larger plastic frame cap while the passenger side just has the cap. all that stuff unbolts to give you a little more room.

FWIW, Had you taken the same amount of time to just look under the truck as it took to start this thread you would’ve seen all that for yourself.

I had the honor of watching a coworker plasma cut shock mounts off of an LS swapped 40 series to replace them with the new mounts I fabbed. There were transmission cooler lines in the frame.

Actually, I didn't think I could get a good look into that boxed section on the passenger side. But I do appreciate the part of your comment that was helpful, my man lol:thumbsup:
