I'm looking to add some quick charge usb outlets to the rear passenger area of a 2019 OffRoad. I've seen the videos and write ups for splicing into the center console 12v CLA. However, my model doesn't have the CLA just two 2.1A USB ports. If I splice into them will I be able to get enough power for a QC outlet capabilities in the rear? Or should I just stick to the fuse box piggy back method?

    Thanks

Speaking just for myself, I ran a wire all the way to the add on fuse box I used in my 2019 Tacoma. For my son's 2011 Tacoma, I ran the wire all the way to the battery and added an inline fuse. That's a bit more work, but I prefer not to tap anything off of the factory wiring if I can avoid it.

It may come to that. I asked my question to Ken's electrical thread, and me choosing the simplest approach by splicing may overload the one center console circuit and everything else on that fuse. When the whole family's is in the truck on a long drive, it will probably blow the fuse. I may do the add on fuse and be one and done with the project.
