So after 2 years with my truck, my wife decides to drive the kids to the bike park with it. comes home and says that a city worker was mowing in the parking lot and that as she drove by a rock was thrown at the door. It left a sizeable dent and took the paint to other bare metal. I have pretty successfully used a paintless dent puller to get the dent out, but the paint is totally shot where the rock hit and it's more than a simple touch-up pen would fix.

So should I try and get some duplicolor spray paint and paint it, or should I get some raptor liner and paint the rockers black. My truck is silver FWIW. I did a photoshop rendering of what it might look like (the picture is not my truck, just the same model and color as mine)

I just use a touch up brush. I wear my pinstripes with pride.

IDK about that logic.... I didn't earn this dent and if you love pin stripes and ruining the value of your vehicle, why don't you just run a metal rake down the side?

You asked for opinions... and in so many words, rnish said "no, don't Raptor line it"... Sounds like you don't like the paint blemish and have already made up your mind.

The rendering looks good, so much better than most straight across the truck lines that you see.

Your truck, and yours to fuck up if you don't have an even hand.

    Go for it.

Why not take it to a body shop have it professionally painted in the damaged area . Instead of just trying to hide the damage and have potential problems in the long run.

Did you try calling the city to cover the cost? My GF used to supervise a mowing crew when she was in college and said new kids would always latch up the guard on the mower, then she’d have to fire them after they threw a rock through someone’s windshield. The city always covered the repair cost though.

That's a little dramatic. People have different opinions and that's his. For example, your opinion is those rims look good.

Hey all, I sort of forgot about this thread and it seemed that it was descending into stupidness. Anyway, I ended up getting a dent puller and got the dent 99% out. I'm going to get some paint and cover it up. to match as best as I can. Thanks for the opinions, y'all.
