Issue after adding lift a year ago

    I would also suggest the flexible boots. The spacer has probably helped significantly however did not prevent the boot from tearing twice in 4 years. I didn't actually realize I had the spacer and thought that would be my solution. I didn't realize the spacers on my skid plate weren't OEM o_O

    Update:
    First off Pro-Comp Lift Warranty Shield refused to cover anything.

    First mistake, I didn't thoroughly read the instructions. I didn't realize they require the lobes cut off of the stock boots and used to seal the boot.

    Second mistake, the only place I could find to quickly replace the boots was a local tire shop. I was in a hurry and needed my truck because my wife was going out of town. I didn't want to take on the task of tearing my shafts apart to replace the boots and being stuck without a vehicle with two kids. Of course the shop didn't read the instructions and didn't bother to tell me the boots I provided did not seal. I noticed this after driving my truck home and inspecting the work. In my 5 minute drive grease was already starting to work it's way out of the boot.

    Solution, hopefully permanently, I cleaned off the grease and cleaned the area around the edge of the boot with acetone. I then packed the lobes with Permatex Ultra Black® Oil Resistant RTV Silicone Gasket Maker and that seems to have created a very nice seal. If this fails I guess my next step will be RCVs.

    In my limited time I would recommend the boots from Offroad Solutions. They seem well made and come with everything you need for the job. I'd also recommend reading the directions carefully before you perform the job or be sure the installer is well informed on the process.

    Had it listed on ebay, someone in Hawaii won it, but this kit is so big and heavy the quote was like $1200 for something i only sold for 500. I still wouldn't mind going six inches, with my 20's back on after a gear change. But still hate the idea of cutting the subframe. I suppose i could get it all welded when it was said and done and be worry free.

    You can lift,just dont go over 2 inchs,after that use larger diameter tires for more lift.
