Warn VR Evo 10-S installed. Not too keen on a shittybilt or horrible freight winch, so figured I'd give the entry level Warn a shot.

 

Sick build, just scrolled through the entire thread. Wish I knew how to do all this shit & had the tools for it.

 

We all started from nothing. If you are willing to learn you can do anything.

 

No doubt! Definitely want to start learning. With how expensive it is to live here, might have to go homeless for a year just to acquire tools haha

What Ryan said - Buy tools as you need and learn as you go. I'm mostly self-taught, but have learned plenty from right here on the forum and from members I've met along the way.

I've got two tacomas and they're both fully functional.

I learned that same lesson..... Or have started to recognize I have a problem that after 10 years is more of a lifestyle than a foray

 

I don't want to know how much money I've spent between both trucks. Good thing I don't keep track

But I've been on some incredible adventures and meet some awesome friends along the way - so it's worth every penny.




Anyways, tossed on some .75" spacers tonight. Didn't really want any more tire poke, but needed a little more clearance in the front for the spindle gussets and limit straps.




Besides sorting out some more organizational systems, I think I'm just about done....



... for now.

The Next Best Gen is looking good, man! Looking forward to living vicariously through your trip updates!

 

Diving into a big project right before I leave probably wasn't the best idea, but I got a bunch of free 3/16" and couldn't resist.

 

the only thing missing is a 2” hitch mount for a 1-bike tray! otherwise, I really like the design and may copy some elements from it.

how much weight do you think you gained overall after removing the stock bumper and hitch?

for water, I prefer to keep it inside out of the light to keep it a bit cooler, but I have two gas cans that I don’t want inside the bed or cab.

 

Get a proper bed and you can fit the bike in there and don't need it hanging off the back.

Guessing it weights about 40-50 lbs more than the stock setup. It's not much.

 

Good call on getting the cans out if there. Lot of spaced saved from that.
