If you did it with a stock jeep we can try with built Toyota's, success will only be a winch away:)

What will the camping be like on this run? I assume it will be crown land sites. Do you know which sites we are hoping for?

Is there a limit on the number of trucks? I have a friend with a Jeep who is interested in joining us.

Last year ....( I think it was last year) we ran in to a tornado during the event like this one. Just to let anyone who is on the fence about this, it has a Peterson's off road ultimate adventure feel to it. Lock down or no lock down it was the event of the year and I'm sure it will be this year too..:turtleride:

I will assume the plan is to turn around at Crag lake then head back down? I'm locked front and rear on 33's and know there is no way in fuck that my truck can get past the lake with massive damage.

Haha or remove all of your body panels! The lake itself is great for swimming and has a good lunch or camp spot.

When is the last time you have been past the lunch spot?
Years back it was samurai width but it has been upended up since then.
Any time anyone is not comfortable with the trail they should not do it.

in the past everyone went to the crag lake, had lunch then the group broke into 2. one group that will return to the start and another group that will continue on after the lunch spot.
My suggestion is those who want to continue must have a winch. hear is a video not to scare but to educate. This trail is wheeling, anything can happen, I've personally seen an inexperienced driver flip her jeep and an overconfident enduro rider break this leg and another brake his foot. There is lots to do on this trail and I can't stress enough if the video makes you uncomfortable, sit this one out but for those who like a challenge its fantastic.... the experience gained will be very rewarding at the end. Last time I did this trail I was driving my 2nd gen runner. After the lunch spot the chance of body damage( not major mind you) increases but its doable we just have to be careful and those who need a guide speak up someone will help.

added trail details for crag. Must of forgot it when I originally added.

I’m assuming the we aren’t doing the back door portion.

    crag lake back door-4

A longer alternate path to Crag Lake, known as the Crag Lake Back Door, leads from the road through tight trees and large rocks for a good distance before reaching the lake. Body damage is possible. Modified vehicles with 33” tires. Experience required.

I was up there a few weeks ago, no major changes from last yr. I like to run (on my actual feet!) the trail or hike it and camp at a nearby location.

Ya when I started wheeling way back in a crappy Tracker on 32's it was a tight trail, small IFS rigs back then saw body damage frequently.

The video you posted is a good one! That trail even just to the lake can scare the shit out of ppl!

There is also logging development towards the Schooner lake exit area, I usually park my truck at the bottom of the hill and they've been developing a new road in that has fucked the trail at that end. Lots of trees marked all the way to the top where you would start heading downhill again after snake lake. I'm thinking of heading up there later this week and will share anything i see.

I like how you said that! Yes, this is the kind of event you don't want to miss. We are two months away from this. More information to come soon. Body damage is very much possible along with lot's of situations for recoveries and trail repairs. If you are enthusiast looking to push these trucks to it's maximum limits - this is the trip to go on! Skids, sliders, bumpers and big tires is a must, winch is optional. You can also join for the pre run weekends - check calendar - to get idea if this is something you can do or not.
