Many people gripe about dealers and their service.

I'd like to give kudos to a dealer here in Ames, IA ......Wilson Toyota.

    The story:
I have been refurbishing a set of wheels. They are finished and ready to have the tires and TPMS swapped from the old wheels onto the new wheels.

I stopped at multiple tire shops for the work. All quoted in the $80 range for mount and balance with possible extra costs for the TPMS service kit. None of the shops could handle the 90 minutes worth of work for 7-10 days. On a whim, I swung into Wilson Toyota to see if they could do the work.

The Service Mgr said, "Sure, pull it into the bay. We can do it now." I asked about the cost, $90 and $65 to balance. I hesitated and said, "Thats a bit steep to balance" In the end, the Service Mgr waived the balance cost. They did all the lug nut work by hand torqued to 85 lb-ft, used stick on weights on the inside of the rims.

Final result. ZERO damage to wheels or lug nuts. Balance is spot on, no vibrations or shake up to 80 mph. Even the minor steering wheel shake is gone.

My only complaint. The tire pressure was extremely high, over 50 psig. I called the Service Mgr about the pressure. He will visit with the Tech who did the work and verify his pressure gage is correct and is being used.

So, for $10 more. I got excellent service and immediate service.

Big KUDOS to Wilson Toyota of Ames, IA.

Thanks to Service Mgr and the Tech for taking care.

Glad that worked out for you and didn't have to wait. Do you have a picture of your new wheels on the truck?

The color is NOT black. It is gun metal grey with some pearl covered in a satin clear coat. All 2K urethane paint. Primer, color, clear. 2 coats each.
