I see a lot of the new 09's that have the cool dark gray color. What is that called. 09AFTacoma has the truck I am talking about. I was wondering what it would cost to paint my truck that color. I wouldnt do it for a few years. But I am sure at some point my truck will need a new paint job. Does anyone change the color or just keep it the same and touch up some areas?

nothing yet, first thing is new tires.
I think it's Meteor Gray Metallic. You would probably be better off selling your truck for one that color, rather than getting a quality paintjob.

thats what i would guess also. From my experience you can never really get a good paint job other then the factory. Even with a paint booth that bakes the paint, it just doesnt have that look or durabilty.

yeah, to change a color you would ahve to paint under the hood and in the door jambs and between the cab/bed.. the proper way to do it would be to strip the car and remove it from the frame. You dont wanna do that.. =)

Yeah thats mine. It has only a few scratches in the paint. But only I can really see them. But I really do wish that I had the dark green paint or the gray.

    Hello all,

I also have the 09 Magnetic Grey Metalic, just out of the box several weeks ago.

Mine is the 4 dr. 4x4 Off Road, courtesy in part of the buy back of my excellent cond.(for salt infested NE roadways) 2000 black sand pearl 4x4 extracab. The guy said it was about the nicest he had seen when he gave me the check for the $15,000+ and the extra $1000 incentive check to redo with Toyota. ...i'm assuming he meant other than the egg sized hole in the frame near the rear shock mount...

I am in Clarence New York about a 1/2 hour NE of Buffalo New York and about an 1 hour west of Rochester, NY.

I'm conservative and will stay that way other than some modest accessories. Within days of the purchase were the black weathertech floor liners all around, (great product) the Toyota nerf steps which were a snap to bolt on, (though could stand an 1" or 2" farther away from the truck) the oil spray / rust inhibitor treatment which after oozing for about 4 days, seems to have finally stopped dripping and/or coagulated, and the bugflector 2, a must with all the gravel pits and dump trucks kicking up shrapnel around here.

I had just bought new tires to go with my polished aftermarket 15 inch rims (for the 2000) so it will be a bit before i reload to get new 16's to fit this one. (Bad timing) ...probably by spring unless these BFG's and the lake effect western new york snow (up to 3-4 inches an hour in the more extreme cases) leave me no choice.

Damn, should i have started my thread own for this?

...pics will follow when i get some good snow shots and the salt is washed off...

I have an MGM as well. I ordered a Speedway Blue, but got tired of waiting for it and took this one instead. I am not sorry either. I think it is a great color.

Magnetic Grey. AKA: The nicest color the Tacoma has to offer.

I've only seen 3 of them on the Vancouver roads so far, and with any luck my 2 month wait will be over on Thursday.

I drove across the border to Costco last weekend to Ontario and got some some curious looks when i drove through a Toyota dealer while there to see what they had.

...couldn't belive how lousy the stock was at that particular dealer. I didn't see one Tacoma on the lot and literally saw only the display black Tundra out front. They had to have had a lot somewhere out of sight where they kept the stock.

    Thats the one.

Northtown Auto in Amherst (Millersport highway) is where i picked up my 1st Toyota pick up new in 87 and this one (my 3rd overall) about 3 weeks ago.

The 2000 Tacoma extracab was between the 2 others and purchase new in the Main-Transit area. Shame about that one. Other than oil changes and front brakes, i was just getting my first tune-up after 8 years service until the frame inspection resulted in them writing the obituary on it.

...ooops, had also just put new shocks and struts on it...Son of a bi...
