I got around to installing the Mori's today. Unlike the OEM lights, you will need to partially remove the bumber cover in order to remove the front bracket. The back of these Mori’s are much bigger than the OE housings so you can’t angle them in. If there is anything I don't like about them is how the DRLs are wired to a keyed ignition. As soon as you key the car they are on. While the engine is cranking the DRLs will flutter from the voltage draw of the engine and I can see this burning out the DRLs or circuit board. I might try a delayed switch of some sort to deal with that. Otherwise, these make me ghetty (meant giddy) all over. Here are some pics and former pic of my retrofits they replaced.

Cool looking lights. Are the amber lights controlled by the DTRL switch? LED always on? At a glance it would look like 3rd Gen headlights.
Do you have pictures of the light output with this new setup?

Had to ask the million dollar question now didn't you? Don't worry, our very own @crashnburn80 is working on an exhaustive test and comparison of these vs. the 2nd gen OEM lights. He's already hinted that they don't hold a candle to The Ultimate Headlight Upgrade using OEM housings, but that won't stop folks from buying them.

I will say they look cool, but that's not what I buy lighting for.

Hello fellow kids, I'm not a hep cat....what does it mean to feel ghetty?

Just messin, thanks for sharing your install on TacomaWorld. As the others said above I'm curious what you think of light output and also eagerly awaiting results from crashnburn80's testing as our resident lighting expert.

@Musubi3 - The DRLs are on any time the key is in the accessory or on position. When you turn the parking or driving lights on, the ambers turn on and the DRLs dim (but stay on). No light output yet but I’m confident these are best in the aftermarket world for Tacomas. To be confirmed later when it gets dark tonight.

@Too Stroked - They aren’t for everyone brother. The ultimate headlight upgrade is cool if you like the stock housings… I personally don’t care for them and couldn’t wait to change them out.

@wi_taco- ha, what’s a “hep” cat? I need to edit my post, I was using my phone and I mistyped a few things. Some how my fat fingers typed in ghetty instead of giddy. Maybe I meant these are ghetto!

I’m following this one closely, I love the look. Currently running the ultimate headlight upgrade, interested in seeing the review by crash. If I do make the switch, I’ll wait for the amber DRL as it looks much better than the white.
