IMG_1321.jpg My wife made some for me, two sets,:anonymous: she wasn't to impressed when I asked her to make the second sets , :smack: I just used thin black cord to hang them on.
I since replaced the original ones shown in the pic with black ones as I didn't want it not to look like a camper from outside .

Very nice set up! I threw mine together on a Saturday. It gets the job done but I’m going to update it with something similar to yours. I’ve watched 100’s of YT “how to” videos. Once I’m done with the major house projects I’ll hopefully have it done by spring. Camper curtains have to be a take down/put up option. I can see pretty clearly out the back and passenger camper shell window but would like to be able to put them up when I’m camping.

I had a very similar set up when I first got my camper shell. I bought some fabric at the local arts and crafts store and used the Velcro but air was attached to the fabric by the adhesive that eventually came off. This time it’s getting sown on.

That plaid with the wood interior is just too classic old school camper- I'd have had her sew the blackout material to the backside (visible through the window) and kept the plaid on the inside. Happy wife and all that.

Oh, and you need one of those percolator coffee pots sitting on the stove and a plaid flannel sleeping bag in the back. Yeah, maybe I'm waxing a bit nostalgic but those items do work great (as long as it's not too cold they're more comfortable than a nylon bag).

Just ordered some of this for blackout. It's a bit more expensive then the Reflectix, but will not take up near as much room if you want them down/stored. Can be cut and then attached with hook and loop velcro.

I’m thinking of cutting out the screens on my side windows (never use them) and then spraying the glass with plastic-dip. With enough coats you should be able to peel it off if you had to.

Are you sure you need to cut the screen? Some are held in using the frame but others use window spline- the vinyl "rope" that you push into a channel like on a house window screen. If it's spline just pull it and it'll come right out.

Went a different route and used the Reflectix stuff.

Could you comment on the material and method you used to seal the edges of the reflectix? looks like a black adhesive of some sort. Thanks.

I did a paper template from the outside of the windows and then transferred to the substrate. I cut it around a quarter 1/4” larger and trimmed accordingly after initial fit. There’s no binding on the edges of the substrate. It wedges into the window itself. What you see in the passenger window is the factory rubber, it tucks in nicely and being just a bit oversized it’s held in place on its own. Hope that helps.
