What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I installed some LED lights in my 3rd Brake light.... surprisingly easy. You do need a torx bit, stand in the bed, unscrew the lens, pluck the incandescent bulbs, insert 3 LEDS. Easy.

I only had 2 so left the middle stock and now the LED's light up quicker than the stock bulb so it's a very quick strobe effect, though I am going to put the third in there when it comes.....

they are noticeably brighter and since I was rear ended once it's hopefully some cheap insurance to prevent that.....

194's is what I am showing as the size/bulb type and a pack of 10 was under 10 bucks so super cheap too.

What do you use for the black fender pieces? They look so nice, I use some chemical guys tire shine spray that they say can be used on the plastic fender pieces but it doesnt look half as good and gets very streaky

 

I like the Access cab and the look of it... i think the 4 door pickups look kind of weird like a hybrid of a tall 4door car and a truck....... but I do see the appeal of having room for 5 .

 

I use this stuff every 3 months or so and it lasts forever. I also coated my truck with this a few months ago and beads like crazy

I did not check the tensioner, should I have? I thought 85K was a decent lifespan for these belts based on what some folks have said...

 

Nice!! What covers did you install on the fog lights?

 

Installed a Redarc brake controller and hooked up my wife’s, new-to-her, 2 horse trailer (empty)—then took it for a test spin.

I am not planning on towing with her horse loaded up, plus tack etc. I love this truck but based on my calculations I would be maxing out tow capacity, GVWR etc with a fully loaded horse trailer. Probably gonna be a two truck family: Taco and an F150.

wide angle photo makes it look like the trailer isn’t level but that’s mostly an optical illusion. She sat quite level, rear suspension is stock and probably wouldn’t sag as much (about 2.5”) with heavier duty leaf springs.

 

After 5 months of waiting, my Tepui Kekanum 3 finally arrived, along with my Yakima 7G Roadshower. I also updated my NFab nerf steps to some Havoc Offroad running boards.

 

Looks like we had the same agenda for today:



Went for a ride empty after the install. Didn’t notice a decrease in ride quality. Can’t wait to test them under a load on next weekend’s camping trip.

 

Those fender flares are really nice, do you have a link for them at all?

Thanks, man! Here is the link to the flares below. I had them sprayed at my local Line-x shop. Make sure you put on the rubber gasket around the flares before you get them sprayed, if you go down that route.

@supralee maxtrax mount and maxtrax. Funny thing is, the trax are actually JUST too big to fit in there. I may sand 1/8th of an inch the end of each boards end.
