Don't worry, I use them for pelican case things too. this is just a convenient place to store them.

Id like to buy a pre-matched set for the living room if I can. I plan on going used for the kitchen table+chairs and bedframes. All the little things will be mismatched pieces that I have now.

The general consensus from the women is that with grey-blue walls and grey floors, buying a grey couch (with a slight tan hue) will be "monochromatic" whatever the hell that is.

Yeah that sounds like a lot of grey. What other color options? How dark are the walls and floors? Too much dark gets depressing and would balance out better with lighter colored furniture.

I have a blue couch and a couple of chairs in a fall leaf print, and a persian rug. Its really not bad, and I think far more interesting than a set some corporate design lackey thought up. It was also very very cheap, courtesy of my Aunt.

Hmm. What color is the brick under that painted fireplace? Could strip the paint for some more color.

That couch is awfully similar to the color of the floor, but the rug helps. Do they have a bigger version of the rug? It works better when the front of the couch is on the rug and not pulled back from it.

    Add some contrast

A rug really changes things, here's mine as an example -

    20210221_135025.jpg

The blue is brighter than it looks and helps since the flooring is the same as my old house, and the house you posted

Good catch on the rug. They do have a bigger version.

Dunno about the fire place. Dont really want to find out either haha. I think my buddy wants to make a live edge wood mantle for it though so the white will work with that.

Ill see if my sister wants to go look at furniture tomorrow. Shes got a good eye for this sorta stuff.

The reason I ask about the fireplace is my sister's was like that when she moved in. She stripped it but left paint in the divots so its this red/white thing now, it looks pretty freaking cool. She used some kind of stripper that doesn't destroy brain cells and apparently it went far easier than expected.

Sister judgement sounds like a good plan.

That hidden winch mount really ties the room together.

With the plastic removed, it serves as a nice skillet.

Still working on getting it seasoned :burp:

This house was a foreclosure that got a complete renovation and was flipped. I saw pics of the last listing. Place was really really far gone so Im betting that fire place isnt too pretty underneath.

Maybe. On the other hand, its super popular to just paint over perfectly good stuff these days because its easier than working the existing color into the new design.

At my last house the fireplace had this real pretty brick with a bunch of different colors in it. PIcked out one of them, kind of a burnt orange, matched it up to some paint and did some accents on the wall and in the window sills, looked fantastic. Especially in the morning light.

    Color is fun.

    Don't worry, they're audiophile-grade pelican cases.

    I have mods
    Did some welding this morning.

    Replaced the panhard bushings.

Bolted it back together. Then added 1/4" more threads to the front shocks. Gives 1/2" lift.

Went 'froading, found a rock. Might make me Instafamous. If I post it.

Then found some power line poles. They're pretty big up close.

Oooh interesting. Brick doesn't look terrible. Shame it looks like that wood floor had some water damage.

Yeah. This place had a lot of water related issues. New roof, gutter, soffet, subfloor in areas, ceiling etc.

I was thinking that floor if it were saved would look better with the grey/blue walls and white fire place then what they replaced it with but oh well.

I really shouldnt complain, Im getting a house where everything has been replaced or re done. Its 100% move in ready unless the home inspection this week finds something.

If they did it right, it sounds awesome. Good luck with the inspection.
