    Hello!

New to the forum and all things TOYOTA! I was hoping to get some insight from any gearheads willing to lend it. My question, if I have a stock, 1991 tacoma sr5, with a 3.0 v6... and I was somehow able to get ahold of the new TT v6 that is coming in the new 2022 tundras, IS IT POSSIBLE to do an engine swap, and put the new tundras V6 in my 91 taco? I'd be willing to lift the truck and whatever. Very curious, not sure though because the engine hasn't even been released to the public yet, being so new.

    Anything helps! Thanks!

91 Tacoma, that’s a rare bird for sure.

Are you getting all the wiring, ECU, instrument panel/display, fly by wire skinny pedal and such to go with it.

To me, if a guy asks a question regarding if something that can be done with something that has never been done, to an audience that has not seen or done this either, might be biting off more than he can chew.

On one hand anything automotive regarding engine swaps is feasible with the right person(s), resources and money doing the swap.

On the other hand, it might be just a silly idea given that the amount of original 91 Pickup that would be the weak links to an otherwise perfectly good engine.

Great advice. I'm not sure but I'd imagine it'd come with it? IF I was able to get my hands on one... Ive thought about just adding a turbo or supercharger kit. Haven't done a whole lot of this type of work tbh, exited to begin though!

Do you have an inside source with Toyota, or just figure you could go order one up from the guy at the Toyota dealership parts counter?

Like most late model crate motors actually available, I would guess a motor like this would be $15k or more (if even available).

To much is unknown at this time to give you a real answer.

Will it bolt to your bell housing .

    going with transmission as well

remember your truck might be back wards where the fuel tank is meaning exhaust gets interesting .

are the engine mounts going to end up the same or will they need moved on the frame.

Given an unlimited budget and time I am sure it can be done I can recall being young and enjoying the challenge

till it is done a new Tundra might work out cheaper if you figure your own labor.

Good Luck let us know how it works out.

Where would you even get that engine? Going to be waiting until someone wrecks a vehicle that hasn't even come out yet.

So many other engine choices from what's already out there.
