    Howdy:

Midwest funeral director who likes to tow a small pop-up around the Corn Belt with occasional hills. 2007 Taco standard has been a reliable beater and it fits in my tiny garage.

I am confused by the amount of options available for checking transmission oil temperature in a 2007 Tacoma 2.7 auto. I have read reviews of ScanGaugeII and of the Ultragauge. Some reviews say the Scan Gauge II can provide transmission temp and others say it can't. I see similar posts about the Ultrgauge. Anyone have experience with either on a 2007 Taco?

Stick a nice autometer gauge is ISSPRO gauge in there and you won't be disappointed. Sender can be installed into the inspection port.

I have the Ultragauge and love it! I had to use the FJ Cruiser input settings to get the trans temp read out to work. I doubled checked it with an Autel Maxisys and its dead on accurate.

I have the ultra gauge , love it ! Much nicer unit than scan gauge IMO . I’ve had mine for over 2 years . The ultra gauge measures both pan temp AND torque converter temp , not sure bout the scan gauge

X4 for Ultra Guage - the MX model supports ATF temps. I especially like the configurable audible alarm settings. For most gauges, if it goes into the red, you have to see it to notice the needle in the red. With audible alarms, you'll be informed long before the needle goes into the red, depending on your settings of course.

I have the Scan Guage 2. It has both pan and TC temps. I don’t know anything about the Ultragauge, but I am happy with it - way too much info. Just plug into the OBD port and you’re in business.
