Nothing too fancy but I made some pillows for my camper. I wanted something that could be either an armrest or a back support so the size was important. Also wanted something to match the exisiting fabrics in there.
Couldnt find exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price so I decided to make my own.
By some luck I found an upholstery fabric that was the exact same colors as the camper's factory fabric in the clearance section of Joann fabrics. And I found some ugly pillows on clearance at TJ Maxx that were the right size. In total I think supplies cost me less than $20.

I finally got a start on a planter box for the patio.

    20210515_192706.jpg

There's still a long ways to go but the start was the worst. Stick building it one piece at a time on a sloped patio, it's getting easier as I add more to it.

I bought the material last year. It's been sitting in my garage appreciating, apparently.

The 5/4" deck boards I'm skinning it with are 2 years old.

A few months ago I cast a few block molds I never cut up. I cut up several of them and decided to see what happens with an ugly block. I got 5 1"X7 1/2" sticks out of it. Cut one stick for use on a Slimline pen and one stick I cut for two Sierra pens.

The Sierra blanks, sized and tube, ready for turning later this week.

I wasn't able to get in the shop today, had to take the wife to Houston. While she was doing her thing, I ran down to the local Woodcraft and picked up several Bocote pen blanks and a stick of Wenge that I'm thinking of using for some bottle stoppers or a new shift knob for my truck and a bottle stopper or two. Maybe I'll have something to show from that stick in a day or so.

Woodcraft is to me now what Hobbytown was to me in my teens.

    This looks great!!

    Thanks.

That was the first time I'd been to that Woodcraft, it's better stocked than the one closest to my house. I might make it a regular stop when I run down to my son and daughter-in-law's place. There's also a Rockler 3 or 6 blocks from their apartment. I might have to go visit them REAL often.

My truck copilot/shop supervisor went out to the shop with me this morning to get his nap in my sawdust pile. While he was napping, oops I mean supervising, this happened.

Turned one of the Sierra blanks. . .
