It's taken a while to get used to new noises in our house as well, you'll get there. I can't tell you how many times I've woken up and listened to the stupid water softener go through it's purge cycle or the ice maker dropping ice. I also learned not to start the dish washer or washing machine before bed because I just can't handle the noises at night.

 

Can't remember if I shared a pic, but here's my nicely sealed butcher block island. Decided instead of painting the cabinets it's going to get a gel stain put on, so that's currently on order since no one has the brand locally.


And the bricks I'm working on stripping down while I'm in between painting and whatnot. 100% bit off more than I can chew, but it'll be worth it in the end so

Thanks, I'm attempting to be. I start one thing and then realize I'm missing something so I try and move onto what I can in the interim or I knock out a less important project for a small win.

Might start painting some walls tomorrow

Let me guess... because you like the aesthetics/old time vibe. I don't get the feeling that you frequent barber shops to get your haircut.

 

Added barber pole as one of my choices; need one for my shop if anyone happens to have a spare.....

I'm not worried about the plates at all, I've been expecting them when I least expect them so it's working out great!
