I think that is exactly right.

I bought my OR bc it was my fav color, on the lot, stick shift, v6, 4wd, and had heated seats (didn’t have to be leather) and a sun roof with a hitch and sway control. Those were the things I wanted.

The grills are whatev. The scoops are whatev. IDK the difference in any of the suspensions. No idea what a rear locking differential is. The sunroof is nails.

The closest I get to off roading is driving across muddy fields on acreage and farms and dirt roads to access rural customers. Any 4x would do the trick necessarily but they don’t all warm my rear when it’s 22 degrees.

I like the look of the Limited model, especially the newer ones, too bad you can't get a Limited with a manual trans.

I seem to see SPORT tacos everywhere. - Up there with the ORs

I think the Limited's target audience would be those that buy pseudo luxury pick-ups and are intended for on road only (street / lower profile tires), cushy ride.... I do not see many of them around. I've seen about as many Limited's as I've seen PROs - not may of them.

I noticed from the comments that most Limited buyers were not intending to buy a limited - they just ended-up with one because of limited availability,a deal on Price, Color preference, etc...

When I bought my Limited I had the sales person work up a quote for a Sport with the bird's eye package (advanced tech package) and some of the options of the Limited and he quoted me a higher price for the Sport than the Limited! So, at that point, for me and my usage, it was a no brainer going for the Limited and get even more options!

    YMMV,

I have to agree here. I was trying to avoid going here, but the door was opened so I’m going in.

I mean I’ll stop short (or will I :)) of saying Limited purchasing people are folks that go to the Opera. However, I can’t say that I have ever seen a Limited on a construction site. The Limited’s that I know of are short beds. Don’t know if they even come in a long bed or not.
In general, I think it is safe to say they are not work vehicles or driven hard.

Got mine due to hickory interior plus goodies. I am a heavy commuter in the north east.

I am looking at an Off Road premium and most likely not off roading.

problem is there is no other options with short bed unless you buy what I feel is over priced the nightshade edition.

i've been going back and forth over SR5 vs Sport, but the Limited is appealing because it has everything that i'd likely want to upgrade myself if i got the SR5. by the time i pay for leather seat covers (can't stand cloth seats, too hard to keep clean with a dog), better audio components and Michelin tires, i'm close to Limited $. loaded Sports are pretty much a wash.

the only think i don't like about the Limited is the mandatory moonroof. the headroom in a Tacoma is already seriously compromised, even without a moonroof.

i don't go to the opera. i do occasionally work at symphonies.

I have a 2020 TRD sport premium which comes with moon roof. I’m 5’11". I can wear a cowboy hat inside the Tacoma with room to spare. If you can, go test drive a Tacoma with moon roof.

All depends how you’re built. I’m 5’11” and I have to put the top of my head in the moonroof opening.

True. I have a long trunk and have no problem fitting in the driver seat with a hat. The power seat helps provide extra clearance. .

I don't know about this year's model (2021), but I couldn't get a Sport last year with the bird's eye view camera which I really love. That plus all my miles are on road, all the other features that were adders for the sport, etc., the Limited was my choice and I'm happy I got it. The sport with all the adders (excluding the bird's eye view) was more money than the Limited!

i'm a tall man, until i stand up. prior to 2020, when Toyota lowered the seats a bit, i couldn't sit upright in a Tacoma without my head brushing the roof. without a moonroof. i just fit in the more recent models, without a moonroof. i intend to sit in one with a moonroof, but i'm not expecting it to have as much headroom.

I have a 2019 TRD Sport and am similar size as you. Never have had a issue with the moon roof and my head.

I have had 4 Toyota trucks over the last 30+ years. This TRD Sport that I currently drive is by far and away the nicest truck I have ever owned.
