I have an aluminum trailer 6' wide by 10' long that I decided to rehab this weekend so I can use it more this summer.

Question #1: It has a 2,000 lb axle. What should the leaf springs be rated for? I never understand if they each need to be 2k rated or is it 1k for each side equals 2k total?

Question #2: the only slipper springs I could find near me (Northern Tool) are all a little shorter than the originals. These are rated at 1,500 each. Would you run them as short as they are or look for something longer?

Thanks. I looked at the eTrailer site but never came across that.

So, for a 2,000 lb axle each spring should be rated at 50% (1k each) and no higher.

And it looks like I need a much longer spring. I'm calling them tomorrow to see what they have.

    Appreciate it.
