    Hey Team,

Just wondering if anybody here has had an experience where they have had to remove a Prinsu Double Cab Rack from their truck before?
I guess you would need to remove the rack, silicone and re-seal the bold holes and likely order a new set of the weather stripping ?

Also, does the rack add a significant amount of wind noise even with the wind stripping trip piece?

    Any insight appreciated.

    That sounds about right.

Wind noise is noticeable at first. Then you get used to it and don't hear it anymore.

im removing mine tomorrow and swapping out for a habitat in prep for a gfc this july. ill report back but that sounds like the plan, pull the bolts, fill the holes with silicon, then reseal the holes with some kind of tape when dry, re apply the weather strips last.

Yea let me know how it goes !

Would you be ordering a fresh weather strip or just leaving gaps where the screws were previously ?

Ok, swapped racks, from the double to the habitat. The double has 4 more bolt holes in the rear I had to fill in with silicon, then I taped over the holes with gorilla tape. My buddy I sold my rack to swapped weather strips with me so I can cut down his to size, my old ones are pre punched so he took those. I also got new gorilla double sided tape to glue down the strips once I clean out the dirty rails today.
The process was actually easier and less problematic than I thought. Bolts came out easy, and re threaded back in with silicon easy.

as far as noise is concerned. You’ll def notice it being quieter without a rack. The wind buffeting at 70ish mph is when I notice I have to turn my music up a couple notches.

I traded in the 2nd gen and moved the Prinsu over to the new 3rd gen. For the old truck I siliconed and taped over the bolt holes, then wrapped black gorilla tape around the holes punched in the weather strips.

I've never had wind noise, never noticed, no strip on the deflector.

I haven’t really noticed wind noise. A roof rack is one of those irreversible mods for people who don’t want to put a lot of work into resealing lol. My MPG went down by like .3 and that’s the only thing I really noticed.
