I use the KEdge... works great albeit can be expensive. I like it better than the handlebar mount, as while this is nice and can put your garmin more out front of your bars, it's easy to snap/hit if you crash.

 

went back to the trail that dented my rim for some redemption/testing... the vittoria air liners did their job, very impressed with them. running 20psi front and 22psi rear. Rims are protected from my poor line choices and I can maybe feel a bit more cornering support.

Not too long of a ride today, but I can confirm the saddle makes a difference. Not even one sign of discomfort on this ride when before at about the 6-7 mile mark i would start hurting. Thanks so much @RockiesTaco! I even PRd a climb on the new seat lol

 

This gives me hope. The saddle on my Rockhopper is MISERY. Really makes me appreciate the CUP saddle on the Roll.

 

Honestly I think it’s the shape more than the size! This deity saddle is actually smaller than my specialized saddle, but it’s “flatter” so I guess I sit better on it? Idk. All I know is it’s better haha.

I ended up using the rubber band lock on the handle bar right next to the stem attachment - was surprisingly way more secure than I thought it would be. Appreciate the heads up!

 

Glad it’s working out man! Have you tried adding a few psi? For your riding style and terrain it might be nice to have the added stability and protection with just a couple more.

 

I think with the air-liners I'm okay at my current psi. definitely shouldn't have been running the same psi without them though...

 

Finally lowered the fork. Definitely overkill and maybe not the best option, but I really didnt want to wait months and months for a DJ fork.

 

I've had the rubber band mounts fail on me on some techy sections. Currently I'm just sticking it in my pack hip pocket but I'm planning on buying one of the mountain bike mounts that does exactly what you're looking for. it's designed to mount to the handlebar but sit above the top cap.

No seriously I think you're right. I'm still fighting my WTB Volt. Ready to pull the trigger on the narrower SDG Bel-Air that worked so well for me on the last bike.

I’m gonna keep getting more miles on this saddle and see how it goes. Test 1 was great.

 

Well I got the strap wrench and tried it on the air can. Got it really really tight but it still just slides around the can instead of unscrewing

 

try cleaning the strap and can with alcohol. if that doesn't work, you can try wrapping the air can with an old inner tube and then using the strap wrench. if that doesn't work, get some rubber gloves for more grip strength on the wrench. if that doesn't work, go to the closest gym and find a beef-cake to do it for you.

 

Did you get a strap wrench with a rubber strap? The ones with the cloth straps are useless

Remember righty tighty lefty loosy. If the rubber strap wrench with tube wrapped around won't work maybe even try a couple layers of duct tape around the can because it will probably get a good grip with the strap wrench. Otherwise I'd protect it with an old tube then give channel locks a try being careful not to crush it. Maybe even a pipe wrench if you have one as it is more likely to grip without crushing.
