Put a few hundred miles in today. The first service is recommended at 500 so that might be day two for me. Is that oddly early to anyone else? Ha I’m waiting on the oil kit from Indian so I may ride over that rather than Let is just sit.

Speaking of oil... don’t mind the garage. Only renting here for less than a year while the wife finishes school so we can move back to our home haha.

sick bike. Mine have all been at 500 miles. The oil is typically pretty nasty after the first change. I know people who are paranoid and change it like 3 times within the first 1k miles.

I've had similar experiences with a couple of bikes I bought new. I lived 17 miles away from the shop where I bought my Buell but it took me 168 miles to get home the day I picked it up. First service was less than a week from when I bought it. Years before that I bought a Yamaha FJ1100 and needed the 600 mile first service exactly one week after purchase.

Nice! Unfortunately I’m about 100 miles from the nearest dealer so I can either do it myself or ride over 200 miles for an oil change ha.

They kept pressing that it’s super important that I bring it in to them for at least the first three services. I asked the guy how oil change number 3 is different from number 4 and he said it’s just really important. :notsure:

    :worthless:

The quad lock I just got has a vibration dampener too. And waht @Sacrifice said, it's damage that happens to the hardware itself. Realistically my best solution is to use a burner phone which I am, but i got the vibration isolator in case I wanted/needed to put my current expensive phone there too.

Alright this is super sick. This is the skydio right? The obstacle recognition and avoidance is incredible.

First service they usually do other things, too. Nut and bolt check, steering/head bearing torqueing, adjust throttle/brake/clutch cables, and just generally anything weird going on. All things you could easily do yourself, but I get them trying to stress it. #2 and #3 I wouldn't see as nearly as important, but who knows.

I will always let the dealer do the first service just to have it on file for warranty purposes. I figure it's a small price to pay so they don't have an "out" because I did it myself.
