If for some reason it goes hub to hub it goes faster. If where it's getting shipped out of is a satellite to hub transfer, it takes longer sometimes. There's a decent sized hub in Kernersville. Actually contemplated eventually transferring there in the near future. I'd be in the same town as Shane :goingcrazy:

Also, alot of Rock Auto orders uses warehouse near hubs. I typically get my parts out of Syracuse, NY or near Indy, both have decent sized hubs. Syracuse does have a satellite, but it's right near the hub. Since I am near a hub that's where I get my stuff. Working there helps too :D

I get phone calls from the pharmacy to refill my son's prescriptions. They ask for his name and birthday.

After the marathon online meeting yesterday, I forgot I had a "am I on track for retirement" online meeting today from 8:00-12:00.

At least this one is proving more beneficial than yesterday's.

A friend was at the cell phone place (VZ) and thought he would pay the bill while there, in cash. They wouldn't accept the payment as his wife actually was the primary number... "Policy sir, you understand..." :annoyed::mad::frusty:

We had them at VA Tech. If you know where the access hatches were and went in before late September, you were usually pretty safe, granted you'd be expelled if you ever got caught.

Looking back on it, you hit a steam pocket and you'd cook to death pretty much instantly. Maybe not the smartest thing we ever did.

There are always teams of guys, one of which always stays out of the tunnel and is in communication with the guy(s) in the tunnel.

They also run a fan pumping air into one manhole while another down the line pulls air out to try to keep it a bit cooler. Or at least have some air moving.

What page do i got to go to for the country store tour? Surely there is one right, lol. We have a little one down the road from the shop i work at. I dont mind paying the $0.10 more a gallon for gas, just to support small business owner. Plus they make some pretty good lunch too.

Pic of some of what we build, we do a little of everything. Oil and T&D, mostly T&D right now.
Side question Shane, are you having to wait weeks or months for some of your steel. Price of our DOM has tripled and i have to wait 8 weeks for the 5". Most all of it has tripled or doubled.

Here's the only picture I can find of the store right now.

That's some cool stuff you have there! Our steel prices have gone up a lot, we don't use much "big" material and haven't really had any trouble getting it.....yet.

    Thanks for sharing!

That looks similar to the store i go to, lol. I will snap some pics next time i am in or at least the outside. Dont want them to think i am a weirdo. Its called "Honk n' Holler" lol. The make some pretty good lunch. They even have chess tournaments there on thursday evenings, which i found pretty surprising for a store out in the country, lol.

We have a table in the back left corner, several retired farmers and older gentlemen come and meet in the mornings and drink coffee and solve problems, my dad is one of them :D

We’ve seen quite the price hike in our sheet metal shop as well. Lead times haven’t been too bad on most things, but we do use some odd stuff that isn’t too common that has had extended lead times, such as 12 gauge mirror finished type 316 stainless sheet.

Bossman got a piece of 1/2" expanded metal 3 months ago and it was $40, ordered a sheet last week and it was $75
