Amsoil is controversial? They make great stuff, certainly better than Mobile one

Lol I don't agree it's better... but you just proved my point on Amsoil... users become disciples of the Amsoil cult and cannot help themselves to spread the word of how great it is and how horrible everything else is.

Amsoil has pretty solid documentation on their products. Data doesn’t lie, but some of the mpg tests will always vary, especially in the 3rd gens. I’ve tested many lubricants across multiple tacomas and I am very pleased with the quality and longevity of Amsoil’s products. Plus if you subscribe to them you get 25% off which makes their products very affordable with free shipping. Why not?!!

Don't you guys realize how you sound to the rest of the world? Lol Zealot would be a word I would use... fanatic is another... crusader is another.

Look, I'm sure it's fine but most of the world does not use it... they use Mobil1 or Walmart and that's okay! U have never heard of an engine failure due to brand of oil.
If you guys want to use Amsoil then go ahead. However I blame y'alls constant promotion of Amsoil on they way Amsoil is sold and marketed. So it's not the oil that is controversial it's the stuff people who use it say about it.
It's almost like everyone who uses it turns into an instant Tribologist haha!

Oil scales with passion, funding, and drive to self-educate.
If you're passionate, you use Mobile 1.
If you're passionate and well funded, you use Royal Purple.
If you're passionate, well funded, and motivated to educate yourself, you use Amsoil.

You forgot, "How to improve fuel economy?"

Ok. I’m not trying to convert people, just saying they make quality stuff.

the worst someone can do is not change the oil. New oil is the best oil

I love a good oil change thread! Especially when a overtightened plastic filter housing is involved.

I think it's a rumor, but I heard it cures certain cancers and helps get rid of gas...

Damn, I forgot gear searching and auto vs manual. Is it too late to add to my suggestions for missed items?
