The spray pattern of the washer fluid spray nozzles on my truck are just two solid streams from each nozzle. Is this just how the spray nozzles are on 1st gen Tacomas or are mine just old and worn out? I’d like better coverage, that actually “mists” and wets my whole windshield, or near enough.

are new spray nozzles just going to be the same? Are there third party options? Will new model nozzles fit/be made to fit? If none of the above is there a mod/fix for this? It’s a small and insignificant problem but one I’ve wondered about; I thought the answer might be here among the gurus. Thanks in advance!

Mine spray a single stream but I know what your talking about, my wife’s car and my beater Honda civic backup car spray in a fan shape. Not sure if it’s how there designed but they work, the blades distribute the fluid around just fine. If you want to try and fix em I would at first take an old toothbrush and some simple green and scrub them up good, a lot of nozzles get plugged up with car wax sludge. Beyond that, aftermarket is probably gonna be worse, usually just cheep copies.

I built custom spray nozzles out of 1/4" pipe nipples.

It allowed me to make any type of spray pattern I wanted.

Someone had closed the holes in the hood for some reason.

I just used the tip of my nail.

The Honda Odyssey nozzle spray pattern is way better than the Toyota's. This is definitely a worthwhile mod.

This is pretty similar to the existing replies, but has a few more photos and examples of why the Honda nozzles are better than the Ford ones:

Thanks for the responses everyone! Yes, the streams work just fine but I wanted better coverage, especially since I live in a buggy area. It’s annoying when you want to clean your windshield and the wipers just smear the bugs before any fluid hits them and then you can’t get it clean without scrubbing the windshield at a car wash/gas station.

just ordered a set of the Honda sprayers, looks like they’re pretty well vetted in Tacomas so will be happy to get them installed when they arrive. Thanks again!
