I decided to buy a new Pickup. After looking at Canyon, Frontier, Gladiator, and Ranger I decided to go with the Tacoma.

    Ordered a 2021 Tacoma SR5 Oct. 10th.
    Dealer advised built Nov. 4th.
Dealership advised they are scheduled to receive it between Nov. 23rd. and 27th.
I will be taking delivery Jan 2nd 2021 (due to tax reasons).

I have been following the forum for a few weeks and have found it very informative so decided to join.

So an update. Sold my old truck a 1993 f150 December 26, 2020. Picked up my new Tacoma Jan 2nd 2021. Everything went great. Was really enjoying driving and learning the new fancy controls.

Jan 21st. of all things going home from work 2nd shift I ran over a LARGE piece of fire wood in middle of interstate. (owned for three weeks, 694 miles) Pulled to side of road and looked for damages, Trucked looked as good as new except for all the oil. Log was stuck under front end. Thought at least it wasn't damaged too bad. Since it was so new I had it towed to a Toyota Collision center.

They received it late Friday, contacted me Saturday and I explained what happened. I told them I wanted it repaired like it never happened. They called me later and advised there was a lot of damage including a bent frame and would need my insurance adjuster to check it out.

After two weeks the insurance adjuster agreed to repairs including a new frame. All Parts were ordered. All parts arrived in about a week except the frame. Evidently it takes THREE TIMES as long to build and ship just the frame as it does the whole truck.

Anyway on April 28th. (Yes over three months). I got my Tacoma back. Thankfully it does seem to drive and handle like it never happened. I now have over 2000 miles on it and have relearned most of the controls and really enjoying it again.

Have also installed a front bed rail and a Redarc trailer brake controller (the hardest part of install was locating where they hid the plug in the trucks wiring harness lol).

Next is my CB. Hopefully in the front console cubby hole. If I can figure out how to do that.

PS. I was not planning to go rock climbing so did not buy any of that type of accessories. I asked if a rock guard would have helped and the reply I received was "maybe".
