    Switch all you want. I usually do so trans case isn’t roaring when you pick up some speed

    This is totally dependent on the situation. Use all your tools as they help you. On the trails I visit I find 4hi pretty useless with the MT. I have no use case where hiway speeds are required. Winter road driving is what I most use 4hi for.
