    Hated the factory, haven't changed anything else on my truck yet. I used the grommet trick and made it look OEM as possible. This one is a just a little taller and heavier

    I imagine the treads are the same metric size as the manual shifter shaft.

    That looks amazing! Did you just buy the OEM Toyota TRD knob? Did you have to buy that black shaft too and that thing underneath the grey shift knob? If so, where did you buy it?

    Also, how did you connect the bottom of the black shaft to the leather boot?

    Thanks!

    Much Appreciated!

    Shift Knob is part # PTR26-35060 and I believe it’s an FJ Cruiser knob. I got mine from my local dealer as it was cheaper from them then anywhere else (at the time).
    Comes with the locking nut, which I assume is what you meant by “under-neither the knob”. The shifter itself “black shaft” is what’s under the boot. The FJ cement knob just screws on no problem.
    Just gonna copy and paste the rest from another thread where I wrote out how I did that;
    Enjoy!

    After many months of anticipation and lust, I'm finally the proud owner of a new @7r41lbr34k3r custom titanium shift knob! It truly is a work of art and it feels great.

    I also installed a Redline Goods shift boot and e-brake boot in black Napa leather with silver stitching. The shift boot took a tiny bit of trimming around the shifter base tabs, but it came out perfect! As everyone else has said... the e-brake boot was a PITA to get locked into the correct spot, but I think it's good to go now. They're a huge improvement over the stock "leather-trimmed shift lever" from Toyota and they compliment the seat stitching nicely. Too bad I'll be covering the seats with Rough Country neoprene covers when I get some spare time... :facepalm: Looks good for now, though!

    Here's a close up of the engraving on the top of the new knob. I'll likely color-fill the engraving with some contrasting paint, but for now I'm just enjoying it as-is!

    Time to finally retire the old Subaru shift knob. If anyone is interested in that bad boy, let me know or else it's going to stay in my "old knob" collection forever.

    My shifter was created from the aircraft grip(control stick) out of the airplane my Father built. I do not fly so I adapted it to fit my Tacoma. I don't have the switches hooked up yet. But, I do have plans for them in the future.
