'04 Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab LBJ + Tie Rod Part Numbers

Could someone confirm these OEM part numbers for me? I really don't want to mess these up. I've searched the forum and couldn't find a definitive answer for my truck.

Don't buy autoparts from Amazon.

Amazon doesn't know, nor do they seem to care if you get the actual parts being sold. Their ability to correctly identify correct parts for your application are tenuous at best.

If you want OEM stuff, go to an OEM supplier (i.e. Toyota dealer).

There are lots of on-line Toyota dealers. Camelback Toyota is the top that comes to mind, but there are others.

 

Or just use the part numbers and don’t rely on fitment info from Amazon

 

01 - 04 LBJs have a different part number than the 1995.5 - 2000 LBJs. They are the same except the early ones come with bolts and the later ones do not. I suspect this is because the later models have the dust boot that attaches via 2 of the LBJ bolts, I'm not sure.

I have an 04 as well and this is what I used last time I did them




btw I don't recommend ordering from ToyotaPartsDeal, if they mess up your order they are virtually impossible to deal with (didn't happen to me but has happened to others).

 

^^^ and to add to this, my dust boot broke off on one side and I didn't attach it back on when installing my new LBJ. As a result (I think), one of the bolts snapped when I was torquing it to 59 ft/lbs. I think the dust boot cover effectively shortens the 2 bolts that it attaches with, and without it you risk breaking a bolt off in the spindle. It was a pain in the ass to remove the broken half of that bolt.

Just my .2c, maybe I just got a bad bolt but I ended up putting the broken dust boot cover back on and the 2nd set of bolts when in perfectly without issue.

 

Yes, that's a best case scenario.

But that also assumes the seller correctly identifies the part, and, more importantly, isn't selling counterfeit parts, or passing off cheap chinese crap as "OEM" as is the case with the OP's link.

Again, it's Amazon. They don't know enough or care enough to verify that the part numbers the seller has are actually correct, or that it's not counterfeit.
