    Hey lads

Just picked up some new bilstein 5100 shocks for the front and rear to go onto my 21 OR taco.
Now I already bought some new wheels and tires a little while ago and need some help on how much lift I should set the shock too.
It has four different heights it can be set to with the max it can have is a 2 inch lift.

For wheels I have icons 17 inch with 0 offset
    Tires wildpeaks mt 285/70/17.

Do I need the full 2 inches in the front to help with clearance and if so would I require a 1 inch block in the rear?

    Thanks for your help!

You will definitely need the full 2” in the front and will likely still need a CMC. The rear won’t rub anything but at least do the 1” block so you don’t have a reverse bro rake.

if you didn’t want to have to cut anything on a 2” lift you should have gone with the 16 or 17 inch pro wheels from the Tacoma or 4Runner. Good luck!

Definitely don’t want the reverse rake. I have read that the only way to get 1 inch lift in the rear is a block?

I'm going down the lift road myself. Jut traded in my '19 SR5 for a '21 OR and the 265/70/17 off my old truck rub pretty bad on this new unit. Seems like the fender flares on the OR wrap around the wheel well and protrude more than the ones on the SR5.

There's so much info on this forum about lifts, and local shops want to sell me block lifts. It's so hard to make heads or tails of everything.

I don't recommend a block if you Off-road. Look for a single or 3 leaf add a leaf for cheap, or a full replacement pack of you need extra load.

Agreed. I went with the Icon add a leaf but there are many budget friendly AAL options vs using a block.
