Here we go, first spy photos:

    https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/05/next-gen-2023-chevy-colorado-spied-for-the-first-time/

GM Authority says the existing platform is carried over, with updated sheetmetal and new interior (sound familiar?). Wheels and brakes look the same as the current-gen. Driveshaft remains aluminum. Rear leaf springs remain but have an interesting reverse-wrap on the front eye. Rear axle diff pumpkin looks similar to current-gen. The archaic-looking roof antenna looks carried over as well. Autoblog expects just one engine - the 2.7L turbo four from the Silverado.

That's the DCSB model, which accounts for the majority of sales (55%+ in Tacoma's case). Then there's the trend of increasing bedside height to increase cargo volume on paper (e.g. how many boxes can the bed hold with a tonneau in place). So...

    Mostly dust and dirt.
It’s a feature of most mid sized trucks. Except the Tacoma.

Spare tire still hangs way down in the weeds.

Looks like you need a ladder to reach over the bed sides.

I wonder if they're gonna have a transmission in the next gen that's not the drizzling shits?

It will maybe be reliable but it won’t want to downshift.

Looks like they moved the shocks outside the leaf springs. That spare tire is still pretty low though. I'm sure the exterior will have more modern styling, but I'm wondering if they'll put in more effort on the interior this time around. The 2022 Sierra and Silverado have pretty nice interiors, based on the pics I've seen, so maybe the mid sizers will get something decent. GM also needs to include push to start/smart keys, LED headlights/fog lights, 360 cameras, and more standard safety features to be on par with the competition.

It's good to see the midsize truck segment doing so well. Competition is good for the consumer. I really hope Ford and GM come out with some quality redesigns to push Toyota to keep improving the Tacoma.

Imagine buying a truck made by General Motors.

LOL... I don't have to imagine because I did it. Once. I learnt my lesson.

I've never owned a GM product. I've been tempted, the Canyon and Colorado's are good looking trucks...I simply can't trust them.

    It's a shame, really.

Still has the ridiculously tall bedsides and the "not a slider" runningboard guardrail, too.

More spy pics. The Canyon (without the airdam) is supposed to be the AT4 variant:

Man, I *REALLY* wish that I could trust a GM product, the Canyon/Colorado have so much potential.
