    First post!

After months of searching and temporary fixes, I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this: (note, the 3rd brake light is not the culprit.)

The back window has a tear in the rubber between the glass and the body/gasket adhesive material. The location is the Driver side passenger at the junction of the headliner the c pillar and the window. This is the channel that directs the water from above the rear window down to the drains below the window.

The result is the water from the roof drip molding channel runs behind the rubber seal at the exterior where the rubber lets the drip molding tuck in. The failure is window bolt adjacent or at the bolt. Hard to tell how far the failure is.

IMG_2294.jpg C Pillar Drivers Side Passenger the tear is noticeable and would not have been looked at if the water hadn't dried.

Looking Up from headrest to top of window Drivers side Passenger sealant is still intact, rubber failed.

Not sure what would cause the tear of the rubber. Any ideas?

I am having the whole rear window replaced due to it being a one piece assembly. The other issue I run into is that all Toyota dealers/body shops/glass repair shops give the part as FB26593

but a 2012 tacoma manual shows that part number as FB22482. Did toyota change something for 2nd gens that a 3rd gen window now fits? I was under the impression that the 3rd gen rear window is smaller by an inch or so.

    Thanks for insight.
