well shit. reading this as my truck is in for the fuel pump recall right now. sounds like it takes anywhere from an hour and a half to half a day (is that 4 hours?). I'm going on hour 6 of no truck and starting to get frustrated. they told me to have 1/4 tank or less since they drop the tank, nothing about lifting the bed up. they are doing my 20k service at the same time.

i dont think this should take that long, and the service guy isn't answering my calls or returning my messages.

    frustrating

edit a few hours later. they just called and said it would be done by 6 right as they close. wish they would have told me that this morning. kinda planned my day thinking it would be done by noon. fuck. whatever

Something to know about dropping your car off for service, they will push it off as long as they can and it will be done by the end of the day unless you tell them you need it by a certain time. People waiting at the dealership take priority, and your car wont usually get serviced until shift change (when there are 2 crews working for like a hour together), doesnt matter what time you drop it off at.

So, tell them you need your car back by a certain time, or just wait at the dealer if you want the truck back anytime before close.

Mine took an hour and fifteen minutes, had a tire rotation done at the same time. I was all ready to camp out and before I knew it they were done. Service guy said they’re getting really good at them as they’ve done so many.

Wish I knew this. I typically drop it off the night before and don't really need a vehicle the next day. Live and learn I guess.
Sitting at the dealership. They said it would be done at 6, in 10 minutes, so what you said is pretty spot on

I worked at a dealer for 6 years, Had people all the time show up 2 hours after dropping off their cars expecting it to be done. Then we had to rush to do the work, and something would get messed up.
