if its a trd tune it can safely support hard pedal at sea lvl at a 2.5 easy. elevation experts would be the other pros here. paging @TRON and @Norton .

Dang, oh well. Maybe next s/c service. I've already got the 2.8 pulley and belt here and planned on getting the truck back together this weekend.

I have a 2.7" and I'm at 350 feet elevation. I have not had any problems.

I found a possible option for a 70" belt. I had to get it from eBay and over seas. I think it was less than $30 for the belt and shipping. It fits a 1.6 diesel if I recall. I have not had a chance to put it on.

+1 to all of this, EXCEPT the modest modder part. :p

My sea level experience is decades old, so it didn't involve any of my current vehicles. That said, @scootter82, I'm just down the road from you and happy with a 2.5" RIP-modded pulley that produces peak boost of ~7 psi (at ~6K ft elevation). TRD tune runs rich, so it's pretty forgiving of extra boost. I migrated to an OVTune when it became available (better than TRD, but seemed like more was possible). I'm now very happy with a @JustDSM tune via HPT, to which I migrated when I downsized pulleys (first to 2.7" and later to 2.5").

Hello boost brothers, it's been a while. Finally back home from travel and back in the truck. A couple updates and thank you are owed out...

@mightytacoman, the new reservoir looks great. Still haven't got it in, I need to mod my Aux fuse block a little for the fit and to get to the lower hose.

@JustDSM, Between the new intake and your tuning wizardry, the truck has never run better and I have somehow gained about 3mpg, going from high 14mpg to high 17-low18mpg in my daily commute. Its better than when the truck was full stock and 40k miles younger with highway tires.

Looks like I have a lot of pages of posts to catch up on. Boost on my friends.

There’s adapters now to bolt on a M112 from the SVT Cobras for my Lexus. Y’all think this is worth the time? They even have adapter plates for the M122 off the GT500 but the inlet is on the wrong side for my application.

Well the biggest issue I see is the guys who took that picture also did a dyno that came out at an abysmal 289 rwhp at 5 psi

The lowest pulley, the one behind the bottom bolt of the tensioner bracket. Not supposed to have any play in it, right? Mine can jiggle a little bit. I was worried it was pressed on before I took the bracket off but i guess it just slides easily into place. Is there a recommended replacement for that or just OEM?

Oh I still want it. With a smaller pulley and kelford cams it could scoot. I’ve got full exhaust and meth too, all they did was a muffler delete.

When they took their car to the track and launched it they lost traction for a few feet. If I launched with my setup my tires would stay spinning all the way down the street. Our tires are similar treadwear too.

The correct and "lee-gul" answer here for us commyforniya sided dudes is that you can run anything internal (ie cams, fuel pumps, different spark plugs, pistons, connecting rods, cranks etc. etc.) As long as it can't be seen. You can bring in an absolute NASTY 6.0L V8 which is maxed out on the NA side for the power adders and you can tell it has a super lopey cam in it, but since the inspection boys can't see it, everything is hooked up correctly and the check engine light is not on (let's assume it's not for this situation) they legally cannot fail you.

As long as your intake has an EO number and the exterior of the engine is black in color (I'm exaggerating on color here) they won't fail you. "Stock appearance" is the idea here.

Also, final thought. There is no issue with using california exclusive designed parts in 49 state vehicles. If they fit, they fit.

I wish I could say I do, but I do not. The risk to clean piping a vehicle is worth more than many shops are willing to take which is why those friendly shops charge so much for it. There is a lot of associated risk to just doing one for them and the consequences to getting caught are heavy heavy fines.
